Gary Christensen’s church was replacing
the old parking lot with new asphalt so Gary
contacted Danny and it was arranged that the contractor would grind down the old asphalt
mix it with dirt and then deliver it to the field at
no charge.
We received approximately 14 truck loads.
This will eventually be spread out over the road
outside and inside the gate to get it a little
smoother.
Thanks Gary for getting us all this material.

Steve Dodgson is our safety officer and would like to remind to be extremely
careful when starting your engine, and that the safest way is to use a
Safety Stick.
He just wishes he would have taken his own advice
before this happened to him.
ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND
THIS COULD HAPPEN TO
YOU.
THINK SAFETY

Well, where do I start? Some of you already know about the trials and tribulations we experienced in the process of this move. To say the least, it has been challenging and full of surprises. The trip itself was almost uneventful, the truck ran good, we had good experiences at the KOA's where we stayed, until we got to Wyoming. While cruising along at a modest 80 MPH (the accepted speed limit there) we had a blow out on the trailer. It was such a nonevent that a passing motorist had to tell me that we had a flat tire. The Wyoming Highway Patrol stopped by to make sure we were ok and then proceeded to change the tire for me. Has everyone got a big picture of a CHP officer doing that? We took possession of the new house on June 6th with little or no drama. The big problem was that the moving company didn't deliver our household goods until the 20th. They were supposed to re-assemble everything that they took apart, that didn't happen. Important stuff like the beds were taken care of, but shelving units and tables etc. were not. That stuff is what has been keeping me busy for the past several weeks. At last, I'm able to report that we have nearly all of the wall hangings hung, only two to go, and the place is finally starting to feel like home. Today I ventured to the basement (my hobby shop) and was able to pull all my planes out of the crate that I had packed them in. As of this time, only one of them suffered some minor damage, that was the EDF A 4, the horizontal stabilizer tips snapped off. The Pulse 125 looks to be in good shape, and I haven't completely unwrapped the Giles yet. The RV-3 is a tough old bird and also suffered some minor damage. It's due for a recover so I'll just do all of that at the same time. We purchased a brand new, 3 br., 2 bath home in a very nice area. It's smaller than the one we left in CA and that has caused some problems with, "where the hell are going to put that" type of issues. We thought we had a handle on that, just like everyone else who tries to downsize. Boy, were we wrong! The weather here has been something to get used to. If you don't like it, just wait for 10 mins and it will change. It has been cold, hot, rainy, foggy and absolutely beautiful. Today it was 91 and about the same humidity. They were predicting 100+ by the end of the week, but that's now changed downward by 20 deg. We are looking forward to the Fall and Winter months with a little trepidation. We plan on doing very little yard work and probably even less driving. A lot of snow blowing and shivering, but we will survive. That pretty well brings you up to date. As we get further into this adventure, I'll keep you informed from time to time. When I get all the planes up to par, I'll start looking for an aero club and get back into flying again.
As you know we lost Ron Hurwit for the call of the cooler weather and to be closer to his grandkids. So he moved the milder climate of Green Bay, WI.
