INTRODUCTION

The rapid emergence of complex sustainable development problems outpaces the ability of any individual country, however rich and determined, to seek solutions to these problems and to explore all the options open to it in isolation. It is for this reason that nations seek to share knowledge and experience pertaining to their common problems and goals.

Infoterra is UNEPs main channel of international environmental information exchange. Infoterra is a decentralized system of Infoterra national focal points designated by the participating governments to co-ordinate all Infoterra activities in their respective countries.

This directory of Infoterra National Focal Points is designed to provide current connect information for the network. It will be updated quarterly.

La rapidité avec laquelle de nouveaux problèmes complexes lies au développement durable se font jour met en échec Ia capacité des pays, quelques riches et déterminés qu'ils scient, d'y apporter des solutions et détudier toutes les possibilités qui leurs sont offertes en faisant cavalier seul. C'est pourquoi les nations cherchent è partager les connaissances et les données d'expérience touchant a des problèmes et objectifs qul leur sont communs.

Infoterra est le principal moyen dont dispose le PNUE pour assurer l'échange international de renseignements sur l'environnement. C'est un système décentralisé s'appuyant sur un réseau mondial de points focaux nationaux charges par es gouvernements participants de coordonner

toutes les activités dIrifoterra dens leurs pays res pect ifs.

La present Repertoire des points focaux nationaux d'lnfoterra a pour but de fournir les derniers renseignements exacts nécessaires pour le rOseau. II sera mis a jour tous les trois mois.

Por esa razOn, las naciones procu ran corn partir coriocimientos y experiencias qua guarden relación con sus problemas y objectives comunes.

INFOTERRA es el medio principal con qua cuenta el PNUMA para el intercambio de información ambiental a nivel internacional. INFOTERRA es un sistema decentralizado de centros nacionales de coordinación designados por los gobiernos participantes para coordinar todas las actividades de INFOTERRA en sus respectivos palses.

El presente directorio de centros nacionales de coordinación de INFOTERRA tiene por objeto facilitar informaciOn actual para establecer contacto con Ia red. Se actualizarácon periodicidad trimestral.
