Settings Configuration of DocSlide you need start with Settings for:

SMTP Here you will set your SMTP server details. This will be used by DocSlide to send mail

outside.

• Server name - Name of the customer SMTP server

• Port - 25

• Username - SMTP user name

• Password - SMTP user password

• Use SSL - Select if you want to use SSL

• Use TLS connection - Select if you want user TLS

You can test SMTP server configuration but sending test mail.

Users Here you can set where DocSlide is going to search for user attributes

LDAP You need specify all attributes to connect to LDAP server like: URL, DN, UserName,

Password and if necessary some mapping filters, etc.

PaperCut To connect to PaperCut you need to set url and token. Token can be found here:

Domain If you will choose domain DocSlide will connect to domain where server is connected.

Groups Here you can set user groups for activating or deactivating access to browser flow or

processors

You can add any group by typing it name. This group will be taken from source of user you

selected before and can be use further in system.

Configuration Here you can change system configuration.

• web-url http://+:12120/ - System url

system will files from xerox devices

• scan-store-location store/scans - internal folder for

storing scanned jobs

• scan-download-audit false - This allows you to

monitor from logs who download the file

• portal-authentication Windows - Where system will

verify user typed password

• scan-storage-max-time 48 - Automatic timeout

after which stored file will deleted

• scan-download-owner-only true/false - If only user who

was scanning can download scanned files

Translation

Here you can do translation to your local language. You need to choose language, than you

can see latest not translated yet fields. After performing translation just press Save and it will

be automatically added to system.

Destinations

Adding destination You need to go to destinations and press +Add button

Destination to Email

When you want to use mail destination?

When you want to send scanned files or link to them to user mail.

To add email destination, you need to set:

• Destination name - Name of destination

• From email - From mail address, static or variable

• To email - To mail address, static or variable

• Subject - Subject of mail with attachment

• Mail Body - Body of mail with attachment

If you want to receive scanned files as attachment you can now save this destination.

If you would like to receive mail with encrypted https link you need to select checkbox Send

as link and finish configuration of:

• Size limit - Max size of attachment in kb, above which user

will receive the link

• Link pattern - Link pattern of the link to this DocSlide server

• Subject - Subject of the mail with link

• Mail body - Body of the mail with link

* for possible variables just start typing or selecting from drop down menu [ and you will see

list of available ones supported by system.

Private or Public link to email destination

This gives you possibility to create two types of destinations, with public and private link to

email. One destination will be connected to flow where only the person who made the scan (

job owner ) can download the scanned flies from link and the other option is to allow

anonymous access which mean the link is available to any person (Public link ).

Destination to Folder When you want to use folder destination?

When you want to send scanned files to some folder. It can be used to send flies to user

homefolder or named folder. It can be also used to send files for further processing for

example to dedicated Umango Hotfolder for flies conversion or extraction, Umango will be

doing OCR process and sending file to proper place or back to DocSlide for unified sending

user HTTPS link in mail.

To add folder destination, you need to set:

• Destination name - Name of destination

• Folder name pattern - Folder where files are going to be store

• File name pattern - Naming of the files (you can use static or

variables)

• Use authentication - If you want to store file in different

location, those are external credentials

• Substitute characters

in file name - If you need to modify file naming you

can play here

• Create metadata file - If you want store metadata file together

with scanned file you can create it here with setting file extension and structure.

Name will be same as scanned file.

* for possible variables just start typing [ and you will see list of available ones supported by

system.

Multi destinations

In each created flow you can now select multi destinations created before. For that you need

to uncheck Simple mode delivery.

Processors To create processor, you need to press +Add.

Archive Archive processor gives you possibility to archive scanned jobs.

To add archive processor, you need to set:

• Process name

• Type:

• Archive folder

Merge

Merge processor gives you possibility to merge multiple pdf files to one pdf

To add merge processor, you need to set:

• Process name

• Type:

• Output file name pattern

Flows To create flow, you need to press +Add.

Folder Flow

When you want to use Folder flow?

When you want to receive scan, files stored in some folder and file name can contain some

metadata, for example user login. Based on that we can do in DocSlide lots of things like,

send this scanned file to user mail, homefolder, etc.

To create folder flow you need to set:

• Flow name - Name of the flow

• Type - Folder

• Folder path - Which folder this flow will monitor

• File mask - Supported files extension for this flow

• Separator in the filename - Separator for metadata in the file name:

example login_fliename.pdf, everything before _ will be variable, login of the user in

the system

• Metadata pattern - type of system variable

• Processor - if you need processor

• Destination - You need to select one of already

created destination. After choosing it you will see short summary of selected

destination

Mail Flow When you want to use Mail flow?

When you want to receive mails with scan files. DocSlide has embedded SMTP server and

ca receive mails from MFDs for example which doesn’t support PaperCut Integrated

Scanning.

To create mail flow, you need to set:

• Flow name - Name of the flow

• Type - You need to select mail

• Server name - DocSlide server name or IP address

• Port - Port 25 for DocSlide SMTP server

• SSL protocols - Type off SSL you want to apply

• Certificate - Server certificate

• Processors - Processor if necessary

• Destination - You need to select one of already

created destination. After choosing it you will see short summary of selected

destination

Xerox Flow When you want to use Xerox flow?

When you want to receive scanned file with metadata from Xerox MFDs using theirs native

scanning features. They can send them via HTTPS protocol with scan files. DocSlide serves

scanning endpoint at address http(s)://<server_ip>:(port)/xerox/scan. DocSlide will receive

does file and parse XST metadata file for user and more variable and process this to some

destinations like user mail, homefolder, etc.

To create Xerox flow, you need to set:

• Flow name - Name of the flow

• Type - Xerox

• Processor - Processor if necessary

• Destination - You need to select one of already

created destination. After choosing it you will see short summary of selected

destination

XmlFolder When you want to use XmlFolder flow?

When you want to receive scanned file with xml metadata. DocSlide will receive does file

and parse xml metadata file for user and more variable and process this to some

destinations like: user mail, homefolder, ect.

To create Xerox flow, you need to set:

• Flow name - Name of the flow

• Type - xmlfolder

• Folder path - Folder which DocSlide is going to

monitor

• XPath to owner login - Path in Xml for user login

• XPath to filename - Path in Xml for filename

• Add metadata to be extracted

from XML - Path in Xml for some extra metadata

• Processors - Processor if necessary

Browser When you want to use Browser flow?

When you want to receive scanned files from DocSlide user portal. DocSlide will receive

does files and based on the used flow send processed scanned files to user mail,

homefolder, Umango 20 for doing OCR, etc.

To create Browser flow, you need to set:

• Flow name - Name of the flow

• Type - browser

• Flow label - Name of the flow – this will be visible for

user

• Description of the flow - Description of the flow - this will be

visible for user

• Allow file extensions - Which files extensions user can upload

• Processors - Processor if necessary

• Destination - You need to select one of already

created destination. After choosing it you will see short summary of selected

destination

IMAP When you want to use IMAP flow?

When you want to receive scanned files from IMAP mailbox – Umango does not support

IMAP currently so you can leverage DocSlide. DocSlide will monitor the IMAP mailbox take

the attached files and based on the flow defined send processed scanned files to user mail,

homefolder, Umango 20 for doing OCR, etc.

To create IMAP flow, you need to set:

• Flow name - Name of the flow

• Type - IMAP

• Server - SMTP server

• Port - SMTP server port

• Security - SSL or TLS settings

• User name - SMTP user name

• Password - SMTP user password

• Interval in minutes - Interval how offen DocSlide will

download scan files and delete emails

• Allowed file extensions (with dot, ex. .pdf or .*), confirm with [ENTER] – files

extensions

Addendum When using folder as a flow type in metadata pattern you can use {login} or {email} to extract

information about file’s owner from scan file name. Based on this information DocSlide will

fetch owner of the job from defined source of users (domain, PaperCut or using LDAP)

based on this information. Any additional options will be threated as metadata bound to

current scan file, ex:

Having such configuration if file named jsmith_its_scan.pdf will be placed DocSlide will get

details of owning user based on login jsmith, also for this file metadata called [organization]

will be available to be user inside processors and destination, in this case it will have value

of its.

At any place you can use predefined metadata values in a form of [metadata_name],

DocSlide will substitute it with proper value assigned to a scan file being processed:
