Curves, from the simplest to the most complex, have always been associated with the idea of soft and warm by blending senses. Moreover, the harmonious combination of curve and reverse curve has been the expression of the very concept of beauty in various periods. The convergence of these two observations perhaps will convey a better understanding of the reassuring charm of the classical curves of sleep.

Le curve, dalla più semplice alla più articolata, sono sempre state associate all’idea di soffice e accogliente in un rapporto di sinestesia. Inoltre, l’insieme di curva e controcurva in un’unione armonicasono state in svariate epoche la rappresentazione stessa dell’idea di bellezza. la combinazione di queste due osservazioni ci aiuta a capire, forse un po’ meglio, il fascino rassicurante delle classiche curve del sonno.

Simple and uncomplicated does not mean commonplace or trite, since it navigates the sea of knowledge, geometry and the study of proportions and golden section. Many designers consider the expedient of a drastic change in scale as the very essence of artistic creation, which is thus transformed into an aesthetic experience in art. The idea of either enlarging or miniaturising objects underpins our daily perception of quality. Suffice to think of cities, architectures, and even the creations of goldsmiths, jewels and watches. The transforming power of proportions is a mystery that is hard to interpret, and finds several examples in the art of every age, place and civilisation.
