• Industries need more reliable supply chains - Shortening the supply chains, many industries started localizing the know-how and developing suppliers nearby; - Consumed in Europe – produced in Europe – opportunity for SEE - Intensification of SDP initiatives; - The reliability of being a few truck-days away from OEMs and consumer market makes immediate periphery more attractive than cheaper but distant geographies- Benefits largely automotive and electronic sectors in emerging economies in the vicinity of main markets.
