2008 Financials “I have been very impressed over the years to
see Mr. Carpenter’s dreams and ambitions for
Rainbow Omega become fulfilled. His goal,
which was to give adults with developmental
disabilities a safe and happy environment in
which to live and work, has been very success-
ful. He has fulfilled his dream and now more
than 70 residents have a permanent home at
Rainbow Omega.”
Leon Smith
Mayor, City of Oxford
“Since Rainbow Omega opened in 1995, they
have provided excellent services to persons with
special needs. It is wonderful that they continue
to expand their services as this is so needed in
our area…I am in full support of all that Rain-
bow Omega is doing.”
Brenda J. Burt
Executive Director, The Arc of North Talladega
County
“I am very knowledgeable and well satisfied
with the excellent performance of Rainbow
Omega in every area of service to the residents
and to our community…Keep up the good
work!”
Billy L. Atkinson

“We are well satisfied with Rainbow Omega’s
performance and we appreciate having a source
of supply in close proximity to our Lincoln
facility. Moreover, we support Rainbow Omega’s
mission to provide meaningful employment to
their residents.”
Rick Schostek

Each night my prayer was, ‘Lord, please let me
live long enough to see Tabby get in at Rainbow
Omega so that I can leave this world knowing
she will be taken care of.’ Now, Tabby is right
next to Heaven at Rainbow Omega. She truly is
happy and has the best quality of life she has
ever had.”

Dear Friends:
As we look back at 2008, we are amazed at all of the accom-
plishments that were made. The size of our campus grew
to 231 acres. A portion of the land has been cleared and a
capital campaign was started to raise funds for a new
vocational center for our residents to work. Honda Manu-
facturing of Alabama expanded their production to include
the Ridgeline truck. We now assemble the owner’s manual
kits for the Ridgeline in addition to the Odyssey and Pilot.
We also completed several mailing projects for the
Talladega Super Speedway. The first Huntsville Fundraising
Dinner was held in September with a record number of
attendees for any Rainbow Omega event and Midnight at
McClellan, a black-tie event, was held on New Year’s Eve
and introduced our mission to 100 new donors.
We have many people to thank for these accomplishments.
Four new groups – The Huntsville Dinner Committee, the
Young Professionals Committee, the Development Com-
mittee and the Ladies Auxiliary of Birmingham – were
formed to help with our fundraising efforts. We appreci-
ate their dedication to the mission of Rainbow Omega and
look forward to working with them for many years to come.
The So-Journers visited with us twice and worked on
various projects including the delivery of hundreds of
poinsettias to churches in Alabama and Georgia. Youth
groups visited with us every week during the summer
helping with labor-intensive projects and hosting picnics
for our residents. Everyone on campus benefited from
their energy and enthusiasm.
Most importantly, we are very thankful to you – our donors.
Without your support, we would not be able to provide a
quality of life for 80 adults with developmental disabilities.
We hope that you will come visit us when you have the
opportunity. I think that you will be very pleased with the
outcome of your support!
In 2008, our campus grew to 231 acres. A portion of the land
was purchased through a USDA Rural Development grant.
