Our Passion - To Unleash the Potential In Your Child...

The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves

throughout their lives.

- Robert M. Hutchins

Many a times we are beset by the question: How much of learning is education, and

how much is information? There have been many opinions on the best way to educate

children, and to sift information from education, but none conclusive enough to enable

educationists to implement tools to really home in on what constitutes education;

and provide it in ample measures to the insatiable curiosity of children. But at Indira,

we have reasons to believe that irrespective of what makes for education, the prime

aim of the teacher is to keep the child interested, with plenty of knowledge and lots

of information, if it will help keep the flame of curiosity burning. And that is exactly

what our teachers do, with modules designed to make the child think and question the

whys, the wheres and the hows of everything they learn. This makes for a wonderfully

interactive time in the classroom; and the wonder keeps growing in off-classroom

sessions as we take the child through the school of life into a fun filled, meaningful

world that keeps him glued to the subject being taught. This is what makes Indira

different, since teaching and learning by rote is not our cup of tea. Believing that

schools have a more comprehensive role to play than mere “educating” children, by

making them aware of the beauty of the world around them, and sensitising them

to the environment - social and otherwise, helping them make responsible choices

in life . Enabling children to see, feel, sense and touch life as it is, Indira builds the

base of a future India right from the first step the child takes into school and

carries on till he passes out of its corridors as a knowing, caring, responsible and

extremely conscientious citizen of India.

Executive

Principal’s

Message

Dear Stakeholders of INS

At the outset, let me thank you for considering Indira National School as a choice for your child.

Let me share with you some of my beliefs about schooling:

* We are known as a school that believes and focuses on a holistic approach to education. In addition

to the regular scholastic subjects we expose the students to a wide range of co-scholastic activities.

Our endeavour is to prepare students for life.

* We are known as a school with high expectations, high standards and high achievements. To support

our students in their endeavours, we appreciate the encouragement and motivation parents give their

children at home because it has been our experience that children who are well adjusted and able to

meet classroom expectations are the ones who get that support at home.

* We are the role models for our kids, let us ensure that we exhibit the behaviour and ethics that

we want our kids to model.

* We are a child centered school where all our efforts and endeavours are concentrated around the

achievement of each child.

* We believe that school should be a space that a child looks forward to come to. With that end in view,

our teachers ensure the well-being of each and every child.

* Academic achievement is extremely important. However it is not the only aspect of school. Encourage

your kids to participate in and enjoy the entire spectrum of activities that the school has to offer.

* As a school we have a firm discipline code in place however we do not believe in punishment, but in

course correction. If we work collaboratively and praise good behavior and ignore bad behavior , I

am sure we will see positive results. We need to be firm and consistent if we want well behaved and

happy kids.

* Attach the utmost importance to school norms so that the child understands the value of discipline.

This will make life easy for parent, child and teacher. It will also translate into success for the child.

* Lastly , maintain a cordial relation with the school and be respectful of your wards teachers. This will

send out the message to your ward that the school and teachers are sacrosanct.

On this final note, I take your leave and look forward to a long and fruitful association with you.

Skill Enhancement Programme

INS has set up a counselling cell staffed by well trained counsellors and remedial teachers.

We work towards identifying and rectifying learning difficulties and behavioral problems.

Meal Plan To encourage healthy eating habits in children, and save working mothers from an added effort at home.

the school provides an optional meal plan to the students.

Secondary students are provided with a snack at 7.20 am and a Brunch at 10.45 am.

Primary students are provided breakfast at 8.30 am and lunch at 12.55 pm.

Transport The school also provides optional school bus facility with a female attendant in a radius of 10 Km to

fetch the children to and from school. This facility is provided on all working days.

Digital learning through interactive software We have moved from blackboard teaching to interactive board teaching, making the teaching-learning

process not only enjoyable but innovative, leading to student interaction, interest and curiosity.

ERP: (Enterprise Resource Planning software) Through our ERP system, parents, teachers and students share a common interactive platform and

share information electronically. Parents can track their ward‟s attendance, homework, time-table as

well as communicate with their ward‟s teachers via email, get the latest updates on school activities

on the school website and much more.

THOTS In our constant endeavour and search to provide our students with better learning & development

avenues, we are initiating „THOTS Program‟ for our students. It is a unique concept for the development

of Higher Order Thinking Skills & Thinking Processes in children.

Think Lab When one thinks of science one only thinks of it as experiments and observations. However one needs

to think beyond test tubes and burners. It is a subject that helps one to be organized and think

logically. „Think lab is an organization which inculcates inquisitiveness, prerequisite to be a successful

student of science. „Think Lab‟ provides each student a science kit of his own. Through this kit a

student learns about the common apparatus used in science.

Career Counselling We have a team of counselors who guide our students towards skill enhancement.

expression and knowledge”.

- Albert Einstein

We have an excellent team of qualified, passionate and dedicated

teachers who believe that learning is a life long process.

Teachers act as facilitators in nurturing and enriching the innate

talents and potential of each individual child.

Our teachers are like gardeners who meet each child‟s needs,

give proper nourishment, love, attention and care.

We ensure job satisfaction, as this translates into better

performance and output.
