With the COVID-19 pandemic changing the dynamics of emergency services and making us realise the importance of collatingimportant personal information, the Marketing Division has worked towards introducing multiple employee welfare measureswhich are the need of the hour. In line with this, Mr Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director (HR), in presence of Mr S K Bose, EDI/c (HR), CO; Mr U P Singh, ED (HR), HO and other senior officials from Corporate Office and Marketing Division recentlyunveiled the IndianOil Emergency Services Helpline System, and the PARIVAR data organizer of IOCians.

The emergency services helpline number 7669300300 will ensure immediate help is provided to all IOCians and their familymembers pan-India with minimum response time. Mr Mohapatra appreciated the initiative and said it would go a long way inhelping IOCians and their families if any emergency were to arise. He also trailed the initiative first-hand by dialing the helplinefrom his registered mobile number.

Upon calling the helpline number, the identification of the employee shall be based on their employee number or registeredmobile number. There are nodal officers mapped for each employee, who will extend immediate help during distress. In additionto the nodal officers, there are State coordinators for extending help during emergencies. In the eventuality of both nodal officer& State coordinators being unreachable, the call will automatically call get diverted to the shift officer at Marketing Division HO.

Mr Mohapatra also launched PARIVAR (Passbook of All Resources Investments Valuables Assets and necessary Records) whichwill be a personal information organizer for employees. The initiative has been developed keeping in mind anyunforeseen/exigency circumstances an IOCian could face. PARIVAR will have all necessary information stored at one place andcan be passed on to the employee concerned/family member of the employee. In a time where critical information/details arestored digitally and protected with passwords, this initiative will act as a ready reckoner of all important financial, legal, estateplanning, personal documents and accounts.

LPG-Strategies, HO, and L&D Dept, HO jointly conducted awebinar on opportunities for fuel conversion to LPG on 30th &31st July 2020. Mr Jaishankar S, Director, Aroha EnergyConsulting Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru was the external faculty. Theprogramme witnessed participation from more than 200 officerslooking after LPG Sales activities and Sale of Liquid Fuels. Theparticipants were given required input on technical and statutoryprovisions for carrying out fuel conversion. With the stricterenforcement of environmental laws, increased availability andbetter fuel characteristics, LPG has become a popular fuelamongst the industry.

National Green tribunal (NGT) had recently directed Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to ensure stoppage of usage ofPetcoke and Furnace in Industries and switch to cleaner alternatives. This would increase the demand of LPG in industrialapplications. The programme was highly interactive and received appreciation from the participants. (S. K. Rath, DGM (LPG -Strategies), MKHO)

Safar, a digital initiative was launched by ERO, Kolkata tofelicitate employees along with their family members on the eveof their retirement day. This initiative is the brainchild of Mr AC Ghosh, CGM (I/C) RS, ER which showcases the life of theIOCian via an AV during his farewell program. The initiativewas implemented by CC, ER and coined IndianOil’s journey as“Safar”. A short film on the journey of an employee from thedate of joining till retirement day at IndianOil was releasedduring this event. The film portrayed a bundle of memories,which the employee cherished throughout his IndianOil Career.

Clips of family members giving their testimonials formed a part of the film. Mr Ghosh thanked the superannuating employees fortheir contribution to IndianOil and thanked the family members in supporting them during their stint. This launch of SAFAR furtherstrengthened the values we have gained at IndianOil, this was reiterated by Mr Arup Das, DGM (CC), ER who explained theconcept behind this initiative & thanked family members in particular for their contribution in the form of content and pictureswhich enabled a composite and short film on superannuated employees reinforcing the belief of “Once an IOCIAN, Always AnIOCian” which was appreciated by the audience too. This was the maiden felicitation program organised under “SAFAR” to bidfarewell to Mr G K Roy, CGM (Vig), ERO, Mr H K Majhi, CM (Contracts), ERO and Mr P K Ray, CM (Aviation), ERO. On 4th August 2020, Mr Sanjay Kumar V, ED, SERPL, virtuallyaddressed the BICs, SICs, Construction LICs, and all employeesof SERPL Bhubaneswar HQ. This was his first such addressafter taking over the role of Regional Head of SERPL fromAugust 1, 2020. The meeting started with a safety briefing byMr B K Soni, DGM (HSE) wherein he shared recent incident ofaccident for future learning. Mr Chinmoy Ghosh, CGM (O),SERPL, Bhubaneswar briefed the employees on the meetingagenda. Mr Kumar elaborated upon major on-going works inhand at operation and construction front. He stressed on 'NILTolerance' for deviation in four major areas, viz - Safety,Security, Quality and Discipline.

"Maintaining assets for safe operations 24x7 for 365 days vis-a-vis on-spec delivery of crude oil and petroleum products are ourmost critical objectives in pipeline operations. As far as construction is concerned, timely completion of on-going projects ensuringsafety and quality is crucial", said Mr Kumar. He advised to optimise response time for information sought from locations andexhorted to build strategies for cost cutting. Applauding the passion demonstrated by SERPL team towards e-learning withcompletion of 30,000+ modules till date, Mr Kumar appealed everyone to keep the learning spirit ignited and advised allSICs/HODs to encourage millennials to come up with innovative ideas and foster creativity. Mr Arup Sinha, ED (RS), SR delivered a Guest Lecture oninvitation to more than 190 Management Students (MBA &PGDM) and Faculties of PSG Institute of Management(PSGIM), a reputed B-School on ‘Energy Scenario Outlook andits Impact on Indian Economy’, through a Webinar organizedtoday – another step towards the process of strengtheningIndianOil’s Industry-and-Academia Connect. Mr Sinha, duringthe course of the lecture, stressed on India’s inevitability to gothrough a major energy transformation from Oil to Gas-orientedin the future.

He also mentioned that in the wake of present inclement weather, dwelling havoc and catastrophic emergence at the threshold ofhuman existence due to COVID-19, the inter-institutional and energy front runners need to foray into the initiatives ofenvironmental friendly aspects of energy expedition like Shale gas and other alternatives within the purview of nature conscience.‘MADE IN INDIA’ theme redefined, highlighting that the products should be ‘made Globally for Globally’. He elucidated how Oiland Gas economy drives the economy of the country depending on huge imports; and explained the timely need for adopting thelatest Technological interventions to explore the new arenas of Oil & Gas. Mr Sinha also enlightened the Hydrogen fuel systemdevelopment and Metal-Air Battery Technology conceptualized by IndianOil as an important leap in attaining self-sustainability.He touched upon the ambitious green and clean energy projects of IndianOil. INDMAX Project at BGR witnessed a major boost on 3rd

August 2020 with the commissioning of the critical rotaryequipment for INDMAX FCC unit i.e. steam turbine drivenMain Air Blower (MAB) Package at BGR Project site. Theequipment 9.77 mtr long, 4.86 mtr wide, 4.78 mtr high andhaving a net weight of 94.3 MT was shipped by M/s ElliotGroup, Japan through waterways. The machine was run by ajoint team of IndianOil, LTHE supported by EETC and CCCspecialists for more than 8 hours on 1st August 2020. Allparameters were well within limits and accordingly, the machinewas run with the process lines on 3rd August 2020 which wasinaugurated by Mr A Kalita, ED & RH in presence of MrKailash Pati, CGM (PJ), Mr Debajit Gogoi, CGM (T), Mr M MChetri, CGM (TS & HSE) and other officials from IndianOil,PMC M/s tkIS & the business partner M/s L&T HydrocarbonEngineering including the OEMs & Vendors. OISD conducted review of ESA and SSA points pending formore than 2 years for the IndianOil Marketing Location onvirtual platform over VC. The important highlight wasacceptance of compliance of points with adequate mitigationmeasures rendering cost effective solution thus resulting insavings of more than 10 crores to IndianOil.

Progress made and efforts put by Locations under guidanceof State Operations Head and were presented to OISD whichresulted in compliance of more than 45% points. Mr L LSahu, Director MO, OISD was accompanied by Mr KalyanVerma, Dy Dir-MO and Mr S K Tiwari, Dy Dir-OISD.

boost up the morale of each one of us at this hour of thepandemic situation but at the same time also helps ingetting connected. The cultural program done for the firsttime while leveraging the digital technology was attendedby a large number of employees along with their familymembers. In the program, some of the in-house talents ofGuwahati Refinery, both employees and their dependantfamily members presented numerous cultural itemsincluding songs, dance and instrumental etc.

While simultaneously, an initiative was also taken to spread further awareness on COVID through sharing of advisories andguidelines for ensuring better physical and mental health.
