FOCUS PROGRAM
STEMSTEM students apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts using 21st century skills and inquiry-based design thinking models to create innovative solutions to authentic problems.
CU TEAMS:CU has partnered with St. Vrain Schools to allow students opportunities to see engineering as an attainable career. CU graduate engineering students travel to Indian Peaks each week to lead engaging, interactive activities that connect with math and science concepts. Each engineering activity is based on a real-world context.
“At my school computers help us learn about things, make new designs and then we get to build it.”
STEM PROGRAMS & TECHNOLOGYMESA Enrichment further enhances the Science and Inquiry component of our instructional focus with after school course offerings. MESA strives to provide students with hands-on, inquiry based lessons with a career mentoring and community outreach component.
Introduction to Robotics is a program for third, fourth, and fifth graders. Following the introductory course, students are given the option to compete in our Exploratory Robotics Club that provides an introduction to competitive robots. Students work on designing, building, and programming robots in collaborative teams. Students will compete in district, regional, and state competitions featuring Vex IQ robots.
Indian Peaks has access to state-of-the-art technology, with 233 iPad Minis, 120 Chromebooks, storytelling robots, LogicBlocks, fully equipped computer labs, a 3D Printer and much more. Each classroom is equipped with laptops, projectors, document cameras and over 40 iPods that are used with a wide variety of programs.

MENTORINGIndian Peaks offers several programs that mentor one-to-one relationships with teachers and students.
The R.E.A.L (Relationships with Educators Accelerate Learning) Program involves the personalized mentorship of at-risk students who can benefit by building academic, personal/social and post-secondary success. To maximize success, family involvement is also a key support and factor.
Kids Hope is a partnership program where trained adults become encouraging positive role models for children to help them learn.
Reading League is a mentorship that supports children (K-3) in literacy.
To help prepare young students for Kindergarten, we offer a half-day preschool program, Monday through Thursday for three and four-year olds.
Indian Peaks also provides a full-day Kindergarten program for five-year-olds. We are fortunate to offer both an English-only and biliteracy (English-Spanish) experience. Both tracks focus on beginning reading and math skills, STEM, developing essential fine-motor skills and school behaviors.
Moose Club is Indian Peaks before and after-school care program. Service is provided from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. and 3:40 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. This prorgam helps students complete homework and offers many enrichments activities to support student achievement.
