Oak St., a church organist for many years, died Saturday in Rome Hospital after a brief illness. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and was organist there and at St. Peter's, and St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center for many years. She was active in the Catholic Women's Club, the Christ Child Society, the Altar-Rosary Societies of St. Peter's and St. Paul's Churches, the YachKJub, the Teugega Country Clukrand the Rome Club. X A native of Rome, she was the daughter of William C. and Julia A. Fitzsimmons White. She attended Rome schools and was graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1914. She and Mr. Bird were married Feb. 10, 1917, in St. Peter's Church by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James J. Carson. Mr. Bird died Nov. 13,1964. Mrs. Bird is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Michael J. " (Eleanor) Coffey, Mrs. Bernard L. (Mary Jane) Volpi, both of Rome; Miss Dorothy M. Bird, Rochester, and Mrs. William H. (Gloria) Olney, Westernville; four sons, John E. Bird, Webster; William H. Bird Jr., Stamford, Conn.; Robert J. Bird, Fairport, and Richard A. Bird, Sunnyvale, Calif,; two sisters, Mrs. Charles E. (Ella) McNulty, Rome, and Mrs. Howard A. (Julia) Magill of Auburn; a brother, Theodore J. White, Casper, Wyo.; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9 Tuesday at the Thomas A. Cox Funeral Home and at 10 at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 9 today. ONEIDA - George C. Canning, 82, of 122 Shattuck Ave., a former employe of the Oneida Dispatch Corp., died Sunday in the Edy Rest Home, Rome, after a long illness. Mr. Canning retired in 1966. He was born June 11, 1893, in Oneonta, son of John and Luella Roury Canning. On June, 29, 1922, "he married Muriel Barnes in Oneonta. Mr. Canning had lived in Oneida for 33 years. During World War I, he served in France with the Army 29th Engineers. He was a member of the Oneida Elks Lodge, the Oneida Post, American Leginn, and the International Typographical Union. Besides his wife, Mr. Canning leaves a brother, John Canning, Oneonta. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Contributions may be made to the Memorial Building Fund of St. Patrick's Church, Oneida. Therapy to be topic of talk Miss Muriel Ball Mrs. Giachino Aiello Mrs. Giachino Aiello, 77, of 139 Bouck St., was pronounced dead at Rome Hospital Sunday after being stricken at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack (Frances) Rotolo. The former Maria N. Scullino, she was born April 29, 1898, in Terranuovo, Reggio, Province of Calabria, Italy, the daughter of Domenico and Santa Catrupi Scullino. On Nov. 13, 1920, she was married to Mr. Aiello in Terranuovo. The couple moved to Rome in 1929. Mr. Aiello died Sept. 20,1964. - Mrs. Aiello was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and its Congregation of Mary. Besides Mrs. Rotolo, she leaves four other daughters, Mrs. Angelo (Nettie) Muttillo, Mrs. Antonio (Jennie) Pettinelli, Sarah Lanzafame, and Mrs. Franklyn P. (Marie) Haines, all of Rome; two sons, John Aiello and Dominick (Peppi) Aiello, also of Rome; a brother, Salvatore Scullino, Italy; two sisters in Monaco; 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held "Wednesday morning at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Homd and at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Miss Ball was born Sept. 14, 1911, in the Bronx, daughter of Herman J. and Lillian McKee Ball. She was a member of the Mizpath Order of the Eastern Star of the First Queens District, Elmhurst. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Viola Finan, Elmhurst. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Order of the Eastern Star Home. Burial will be in Oriskany Cemetery. Muldoon, 65, a former pastor of St. John's Church, Utica, and assistant pastor of St. Peter's Church, died Thursday while vacationing on the island of Majorca, off the coast of Spain. He served at St. John's from 1962 to 1967, when he was reassigned because of health reasons. He retired in 1971. He had also served as assistant pastor at St. Agnes' Church, Utica. A native of Oswego, he studied at the Seminary of the Angels, Niagara University, and the University of Toronto. He was ordained in 1937 and elevated to domestic prelate by Pope John XXIII in 1960. He was a chaplain^with the Army Air Corps during World War II and later served as chaplain of the New York National Guard and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse. He also served as supervising chaplain on the national staff of the Veterans Administration hn Washington, D.C. He served as administrator of Holy Family Church, Fulton, from 1968 until 1971, and oversaw the construction of a new church there. He leaves three brothers, William and Neil J. Muldoon, Oswego, and Charles Muldoon of Liverpool, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Holpit, Ravena.. Funeral arrangements by the P. J. Cullinan and Sons Funeral Home, Oswego, $re incomplete. Miss Elizabeth Brayton PROSPECT Funeral services were held Sunday for Miss Elizabeth Brayton, 88, of Stone W, who died Saturday at St. Luke's - Memorial Hospital Center, New Hartford, after a brief illness. She was born in Poland, N.Y., Nov. 21, 1886, daughter nf Omar and Delia Countryman Brayton. She was a member of the Park Methodist Church and the Kuyahoora Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Newport. She leaves several nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport. Burial was in Poland Cemetery. Mrs. Joseph Spadafora Mrs. Joseph Spadafora, 81, died early today at the Rome Nursing Home after a brief illness. The former Lucy Toro, she was born Aug. 13, 1894, in Tocco Casuria, Italy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Faustino Toro. She came to this country in 1910 and settled in Utica. She -and Mr. Spadafora were married in Utica in November, 1914, and he died in March, 1967. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Clara) DeCristo, Lakewood, Calif., Mrs. Fred (Flora) DiMaggio, Rome, and Mrs. Robert (Alba) Smith, Nashua, N.H.; two sons, Alfred and Foster Spadafora, both of Rome; a sister, Mrs. Angelo DeVincentis, Brooklyn; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Bottini Funeral Home, and at 10 in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Harold J. Bellman Harold J. Bellman, 73, of 732 W. Liberty St., died Monday in Rome Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Bellman was employed by the Rome Developmental Center until his retirement in October, He was born Oct. 3. 1902, in Rockford. 111., son of John and Isabelle Foley Bellman. Mr. Bellman had lived in Rome since 1911, and attended schools in both Rockford and Rome. On Dec. 1, 1928, he married Elizabeth A. McConeghy in Utica. Mr. Bellman was a member of St. Peters Church. Besides his wife, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Sorrentino, Fayette; Mrs. Patsy (Elizabeth) Nasto, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Phillip (Margaret) Goetz, Ava; Mrs. James (Kathryn) Palitti, Rome, and Mrs. Philip (Charlene) Warnke, Sioux City, Iowa; a son, John R Bellman, Rome; 32 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was born in Italy and married Mr. Martoccia there The couple came to New York City in 1910. Mr Martoccia died in 1964. Mrs. WilUam H. Bird, 503 W. Oak St., a church organist for many years, died Saturday in Rome Hospital after a brief illness.

She was a member of St. Paul's Church and was organist there and at St. Peter's, and St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center for many years.
