The Kassam Stadium and Ozone Leisure Park is perhaps a well hidden secret in

Oxford, the site offers a plethora of activities to suit every age and member of

the family.

The Kassam Stadium, offers an array of conference and events facilities, catering from

2 – 1000 guests for conferences, exhibitions and dinners, as well as being the home of

Oxford United Football Club, whose supporters fill the stadium bowl.

The Ozone leisure park provides entertainment for younger children with Jambinos,

Tweenies and teenagers can make full use of the Vue Cinema on Site, and the

Bowlplex, whilst mum can get fit and pampered at the Ozone Gym, which includes

The site also benefits from many different food offers. Simply spice provides Indian

food at its very best, with an assortment of mouth-watering dishes available to excite

and enliven the taste buds. Or choose a taste of the Orient with a dish from Oxy

Oriental buffet selection. If you’re looking for a quicker take away bite, Ozone Plaice

will fill the gap from its menu of fish, chips and burger options. If you fancy a trip to

the old country try Frankie and Benny’s which offers a New York Italian experience,

with burgers and pasta dishes available in its diner style restaurant.

Fed and watered, and back to activities, the Gala Bingo offers not just a great fun out

but also the opportunity to pit your wits against other players round the country.

Feeling a bit exhausted! Stay over at the Holiday Inn Express, with 162 en-suite

bedrooms and a hot breakfast included the next morning for a great rate, the options

are endless.

Health & Sport Review

Don’t assume that the Spa at the Esporta Health and Racquets Club in Oxford isonly available to the members of the club as luckily it isn’t and should definitelybe given the credit it deserves when it comes to leading Spa’s in Oxfordshire.

The Esporta Tranquility Spa offers many options, whether you want a treatment, yourhair cut, your nails manicured, a San Tropez tan or just a make-up session, Tranquilitywill offer you all of these and much much more! I hadn’t visited the Spa for a whilebut it has been refurbished and has a completely new team, headed up by EvaGergelova with all new therapists, equipment and new treatments and it was a delightto return! The therapists are all lovely and totally professional and make you feel specialwhilst delivering outstanding results.

The Spa is located upstairs at Esporta, so very accessible and even though it is near thestate of the art gym where music is playing, as soon as you walk in, you feel calm andrelaxed and greeted with a friendly smile.

I decided to try a brand new treatment on my nails which has been launched by Jessica,a pioneer in the professional nail care industry. All Jessica nail products areformaldehyde, toluene and DBP free and Jessica is absolutely at the forefront for bothnail products and marketing revolution. Eva recommended that I tried the newGELeration soak-off Gel polish as my nails are very weak, peel, flake and chip very easily, particularly as I am a very busy person with a family, it has to be practical.

I think this new revolutionary product is the answer I have been looking for which is avarnish that.........dries in seconds.........is smudge free.......... chip resistant...............has aflawless finish...........lasts up to 3 weeks..........is hard wearing..............and gentle to thenails.................is this really really true? The GELeration manicure takes an hour, mainlydue to the super duper machines that have been purchased that dries off each coatingin only 30 seconds, but only available at Esporta. Your nails are perfect for up to 3weeks and no maintenance – it’s just fantastic!

I think this is without doubt the best manicure I have ever had, as it is almost the sameprice as a normal manicure.

Even better, if you are an Esporta Member, you will get 10% off the cost of thetreatment and if you are an Esporta Tranquility member, you will also get an additional10% off the cost which is brilliant and anyone can visit or be a member of the EsportaTranquility Spa, so please just ask at Reception the next time you are passing. If youhaven’t been to the Esporta Spa recently, please go and try for yourself, and they offera special Spa Membership which is brilliant value for money. So now for the New Year, you can get fit but look good too and there is no excuse for not having beautiful nailsall the time!

Health & Beauty Article

For many centuries, civilisations around the world have used aloe vera for its

health benefits. The ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Babylonians, Indians and

the Chinese have all used Aloe Vera as a medicinal plant. Throughout the years,

Aloe Vera (Aloinae) has been called many things: Potted Physician, Wand of

Heaven, Wonder Plant, Heaven’s Blessing, and Plant of Life.

Aloe Vera contains over 75 known active ingredients (and probably many more). Also

included are 19 of the 20 amino acids required by the human body and 7 of the 8

essential amino acids (that the body cannot make), as well as vitamins and minerals.

The most nutritionally potent is the Aloe Barbadensis Miller - the only variety that we

cultivate and use in our products. Our natural, patented stabilisation process allows

our aloe to reach our consumers in its natural state. We were the first company to

receive the prestigious International Aloe Science Council Seal of Approval for

consistency and purity.

Forever Living Products and the Forever Living opportunity help millions of people get

more out of life. For better health and a more rewarding lifestyle, our products and our

business plan have no equal. Cultivating the health and beauty markets helped create

an international corporation that has grown non-stop for almost three decades. We

are a vertically integrated company controlling everything from plant to product to

you, which has helped us become the largest grower, manufacturer and distributor of

aloe vera in the world, operating in excess of 140 countries with over 9 million

distributors achieving over $2 billion in sales. Our exclusive line of health and beauty

products for nutrition, skin care, weight management, personal care and cosmetics, has

changed the way millions feel, look and live.

At FOREVER, we define freedom as the opportunity to choose your own life. The

freedom to choose when you work and who you work with, the freedom to spend time

on what matters most and be what you want to be.

More and more people are choosing part-time and full-time careers through their own

home-based business with Forever Living Products. The privilege to choose your own

life doesn’t come easy. It takes courage, hard work, a bit of luck and the right

opportunity. Forever Living is the opportunity…and we know you have the rest.

If you've got questions, or if you would like to find out more about whether the

Forever opportunity could be the right choice for you then please contact us to discuss

further.

Restaurant Review

Apart from decent food of course, a dining experience is made all the moreenjoyable by meeting owners who have a real passion for their business.

None more so than Ali Amzed. Almost single-handedly, without doubt backed up byattentive and well informed colleagues. Ali has made this part of Summertown his own, imprinting a stamp of excellence and great service. If you need a good meal and ageneral lift, look no further than Ali. Not only will you leave Saffron replete, you’ll alsoleave with a smile on your face.

And whereas many restaurants will add annoying charges for this and that, Ali will addvalue, add dishes and add to your overall experience.

Kids? Most welcome. We took three of them. Chicken Korma’s are normally the orderof the day – I can’t talk, I was 32 by the time I kicked the habit! But this time, Alibrought the kids out of their ‘Korma shells’ and we were all indulged in a veritable feast. There was hardly room left on the table.

Here’s a selection of what we had:

Starters – a mixed dish, beautifully prepared, including the following delicious treats– lamb tikka, Suffiany Kebab (minced lamb, skewered and chargrilled in the tandoorover), meat samosas, Jinga Moni Puree (King prawns cooked with spices served with aslice of fresh pineapple on fried Indian bread), and Grilled Ribs.

Mains –

Chicken Rogan - North Indian dish with tomatoes, green peppers, onions and a touchof garlic.

Chicken Korma – well we had to have at least one, for old time’s sake! - A mild dishcooked in cream, almond & coconut.

Sigdi Chicken - Chicken marinated in spice, cooked in chef's own special recipe(medium)

Sikandari Badi Lamb - This is a very exotic Indian dish, shank of lamb marinated withherbs and spices then roasted in the oven.

King Prawn Jalfrayzi – or ‘Jinga’ – Stir fried highly spiced with fresh green chilies &coriander. (HOT!!!!).

Chicken Passanda – in a delicate mild creamy sauce with almond powder & red wine

You really can’t go wrong at Saffron. We were served dutifully throughout and theattention we received was remarkable given this was a busy Friday night, just beforeChristmas. Saffron is a lively, contemporarily designed restaurant, with a beautiful flowwith a couple of individual eating areas aside from the main room. This enables youto almost enjoy your own private enclave, akin to having your own dinner party inpublic.

The wonderful all round Saffron dining experience has been recognised with a numberof awards, including the Top 30 Best in Britain (BIBA) and a Gold Award from QualityFood Online Ltd, all of which are fully deserved. The restaurant frequently hosts charityevents, supporting charities such as Child Reach International and Helen and DouglasHouse. Over twelve years, Saffron has become a firm favourite for the inhabitants ofSummertown and beyond. Why not join in the fun?

Restaurant Review

There’s nothing like a warm, inviting restaurant on a cold day to set you up foran afternoon’s shopping and we had a great two hours at Villandry, BicesterVillage, before hitting the shops.

Bicester Village on a Sunday is busy at the best of times, but just before Christmas, even the overspill car park needed an overspill car park. Having dropped Abi and Tinaat the door of Villandry, which was beautifully adorned with cascading snowdrop lights,I secured a spot, eventually, and made my way to the warmth of the restaurant.

What an atmosphere. Think combination of busy French Brasserie and Harvey Nics inKnightsbridge and you’ll be able to conjure up that happy, vibrant felling you get whenyou walk in to either. Practically every table was taken. A mixture of couples, familiesand groups of fashionable youngsters combined to give a real buzz as I made my wayfrom the entrance to the girls who were already getting stuck in to the menu and a predinner drink.

Service throughout was exemplary. It wasn’t just us – it was evident from the activityof the waiters and waitresses that making sure their customers were happy was highon the list of their priorities. There was, however, little to complain about. A steadystream of steaks, chickens and moules frites passed us as if the whole menu was onparade to facilitate our own choice.

We decided against a starter as we were running a little late and made a pact to domain and dessert – although the girls, as if I didn’t know better, were to renege on ourdeal!

Abi plumped for the steak – again – an 8oz Rib Eye steak with a side order of chips.Served on a wooden board, Abi couldn’t get enough. For a little ‘un she can certainlytuck away a good steak. Tina chose the smoked haddock and leek fishcakes, polishedoff with ease. I had my eye on the succulent half rotisserie roasted chickens (served withrosemary and garlic) as soon as I walked in the restaurant, and this proved to be anexcellent choice. A side of creamed spinach and new potatoes made for great Sundaymeal. The chicken was tender and made for a filling main.

And so to the deal-breaker. I had the glazed lemon tart for dessert and the girls SHAREDa sticky toffee pudding – lightweights! Both were the ideal complement to our mains, but, in hindsight, the one between two route was probably the best choice given thatthe sticky toffee pudding was very, very naughty!

Faultless. We all had a great meal, immaculate service and, all in all, a first class diningexperience. Make sure the next time you get dragged to the shops, make a day of it atBicester Village and book a table at Villandry – you won’t regret it!
