A “watermark” is a mark or im-
pression left after water recedes
that proves water has been there.
Our passion is that long after we
are gone evidence that we (God’s
people) have been there will re-
main. We long to make a lasting
impression for Christ.

A new movie about Steve Jobs is coming out. I doubt I will see it, but it’s a great story. When Apple Computer fell on difficult days years ago, Apple’s young chairman, Steven Jobs, traveled to New York to convince Pepsico’s John Sculley to move west and run his struggling company. As the two men overlooked the Manhattan skyline from Sculley’s penthouse office, the Pepsi executive started to decline Job’s offer. Sculley told him that he would want a million-dollar sala-ry, a million-dollar bonus, and a million-dollar severance pay. Jobs was shocked, but agreed to the terms on the condition that Sculley would move to California. Still Sculley would only commit to being a consultant from New York. At that moment in the negotiation, Jobs issued a challenge. He said “Do you want to spend the rest of your life selling sugared water, or do you want to change the world?” In Sculley’s autobiography, he admits that this challenge knocked the wind out of him. He wrote that he had become so caught up in the future of Pepsi, his pension, and whether his family could adapt to life in California that the opportunity to “change the world” nearly passed him by. Instead, he stepped back, put his life perspective, and went to Apple. In the early days following the Day of Pentecost, the Church explod-ed onto the world stage and thousands of people came to Christ through the ministry established by a handful of devoted followers of Christ. These followers of Christ paid the price of sacrifice as they followed the example Christ had established through His life, death and Resurrection. A movement was established that impacts our world today through values and ministries that otherwise, would not exist. All of us want to be part of something that is of lasting impact for gen-erations to come—something of substance and eternal significance as we promote the Gospel that transforms lukewarm lives into tena-cious followers of Christ. We want to do more than go through the motions! So, we must ask ourselves, “Do I want to change the world?” If so, allow God to empower us to change the world for Him. What a privi-lege to serve the Lord with you! Cregg
Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Fa-ther and of the Son and of the Holy Spir-it, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
