I IGENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed toreduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following:

@ Read all instructions before using this Air Cleaner. @1. Make certain the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the Air Cleaner.2. Make certain that the room is equipped with a working smoke detector.3. Use this Air Cleaner only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical

shock, or injury to persons.4. To reduce the risk of personal injury and electric shock, the Air Cleaner should not be played with or placed where small children can reach it.5. Unplug power cord before installing, servicing, or moving the Air Cleaner.

DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF SWITCH AS THE SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECTING POWER WHEN SERVICINGOR MOVING THE AIR CLEANER. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. ALWAYS TURN OFF AND UNPLUG AIRCLEANER BEFORE LEAVING THE AREA. NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHEN THE AIR CLEANERIS ON OR PLUGGED IN.6. This Air Cleaner must NOT be used in potentially dangerous locations such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden or wet atmospheres

where gaSOline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.7. DO NOT use Air Cleaner in or near a window. Rain may create an electrical hazard.

~WARNING 1This plug is a safety feature, to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury. DO NOT remove, replace, repair or-tamperwith the originally supplied plug. If the Fan does not function properly, it may be due to the safety device incorporated in this plug.Contact your Grainger Distributor.8. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug that must be inserted into a matching receptacle. Under no circum-

stances must the grounding prong be cut off the plug. Where a two-prong wall receptacle is encountered, it must be replaced with aproperly grounded three-prong receptacle installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable focal codesand ordinances. This work must be done only by a qualified electrician, using copper wire only.

9. Where possible, avoid the use of extension cords because the extension cord may overheat and cause a fire. If you must use an extensioncord, minimize the risk of overheating by using the shortest cord possible and ensuring that it is UL listed. NEVER use a single extensioncord to operate more than one Air Cleaner. DO NOT plug Air Cleaner into any powerstrip, cord reel, surge protector, multiple outletadapters or outlet-type air fresheners. The use of such devices may create a tire hazard.

10. NEVER operate any Air Cleaner with a damaged cord or plug or after the Air Cleaner malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in anymanner. There are no user serviceable parts. Return Air Cleaner to an authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanicaladjustment or repair.

11. :NEVER insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock or fire, or'darnaqe the Air Cleaner. To reduce the risk of fire, DO NOT block or tamper with the Air Cleaner in any manner while it is in operation.

12. !Always place the Air Cleaner on a stable, flat, level surface when operating, to avoid the chance of the Air Cleaner overturning. Locate theIPower Cord so the Air Cleaner or other objects are not resting on it. DO NOT run Power Cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover Power Cord! with. throw rugs, runners or the like. Arrange Power Cord away from room traffic and where it will not be tripped over.

13. This Air Cleaner is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. NEVER locate a Air Cleaner where it may fall into a bathtub or otherwater container. NEVER use Air Cleaner where flammable liquids are used or stored.

14. NEVER use Air cleaner outdoors.15. Warning: Not intended for industrial ventilation of V.D.C.s - as used in painting, paint fumes, mist, etc.16. This Air Cleaner is not suitable Jor use in agricultural facilities including areas where livestock, poultry or other animals are confined. Please

refer to National Electric Code (NEG) Article 547-7 (2002), or applicable state or local codes or standards relating to electrical requirementsfor Agricultural Buildings. THIS AIR CLEANER DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIRMENTS OF NEC ARTICLE 547-7 (2002).

17. This Air Cleaner is not suitable for use in hazardous locations. Please refer to National Electric Code (NEG) Article 500 or applicable stateor local codes or standards relating to electrical requirements for Hazardous locations. THIS AIR CLEANER DOES NOT MEET THEREQUIRMENTS OF NEC ARTICLES 500 (2002)

ASSEMBLY1. Remove the feet from the cardboard holder on top of the air cleaner.2. Remove the air cleaner and filter assembly from carton.3. Remove adhesive tape from the bottom of the filter holder.4. Place Air Cleaner with front side facing down. Attach feet to the

BACK OF AIR CLEANER in the following manner:a) Push hook on the front of the FOOT into the BOTTOM

$LOT on the underside of the unit. (FIGURE 1A)b) Pivot up. (FIGURE 1B)c) Snap into place. (FIGURE 1B)

5. Install FILTER into the FILTER HOLDER. (FIGURE 2) Be sure thearrow, printed on the side of the filter, is facing the air cleaner, toensure the maximum benefits of the air cleaner. Turn the CLIPS,(see INSERT 2A)on the left and right side of the filter holder, tosecure the filterInto place.

6. Place the BOnOM OFTHE FILTER HOLDER into the recessedarea of the foot.

7. Push the filter holder towards the air cleaner. (FIGURE 3A)8. When the filter meets the back of the air cleaner, lock the tabs

down, on the top rear of the filter holder. (FIGURE 3B)

FILTER PERFORMANCE/SELECTIONThe Air Cleaner will remove debris and particles based on the typeand rating of the filter used. This unit comes equipped with GraingerItem# 6B938. Please refer to the enclosed Filter Selction InformationChart on page 4 for further information regarding CFM output of otherfilter selections available from Grainger.

OPERATION1. Be sure the Air Cleaner Control Knob

is in the "OFF" (0) position. .2. PIug the Air Cleaner into any standard

120V AC household outlet.3. Place the Air Cleaner in a place

where the performance will not beobstructed.

4. This Air Cleaner is effective whether itis facing towards or away from you.

5. Turn the Air Cleaner "ON" by using thecontrol knob on top of the unit. Adjustto desired speed: High (3), Medium(2), OR Low (1). (FIGURE 4)

6. This Air Cleaner can be used as aFan without the filter. FIGURE 4
