Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time bound

research project undertaken in the School of Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences of this Institute.

1. Name of the Temporary : Junior Technical Assistant ‐ 4 posts

Assignment a) JTA‐IN (No. of Post: 02) b) JTA‐CS (No. of Post: 01)

c) JTA‐CY (No. of Post: 01)

2. Name of the temporary : “Establishment of Coastal Ocean Observatory at the

research Project Innovation Centre for Climate Change (IC3) and Capacity

Building of School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Science”.

3. Name of the Sponsoring : Ministry of Earth Sciences (Govt. of India)

Agency

4. Consolidated Fellowship : Rs. 18,000/‐ (Consolidated) inclusive of HRA

5. Qualification & Experiences : i) JTA‐IN (No of Posts: 2)

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Electronics/Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering or B.Sc. in Physics/Electronics with a

consistently good academic record.

Responsibilities: To handle and maintain instrumentation for Geophysics, Atmospheric Science, and Oceanography involving field work with heavy instrumentation and sea cruise.

Desirable: Experience in Instrumentation, Sea

Cruises ii) JTA‐CS (No of Post: 1)

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Computer Science or B. Sc. in Computer Sciences

with a consistently good academic record.

Responsibilities: To manage high‐end workstations/Desktop PCs and peripherals and would be responsible for network administration and computational support.

Desirable:

Knowledge of Unix/Linux and Network Administration.

iii) JTA‐CY (No of Post: 1)

Job Profile: Operation and maintenance of equipment in Geology and

Geochemical laboratory.

Educational Qualification: B.Sc. in Geology/Applied Geology/ Chemistry with

experience in Geochemical or Chemistry Laboratory.

6. Duration of the Appointment : Initially for a year and extendable based on satisfactory

performance.
