Foreword Mobile position aware systems combined with modern wireless technologies are becoming nowadays important more and more. Developing positioning systems, problems in various areas of information and communication technology need to be solved. The 10 th Workshop on Positioning, Navigation and Communication 2013 (WPNC'13) provides an overview of state- of-the art wireless positioning approaches and systems. It took place in the University of Applied Sciences Dresden “Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden”, in the City of Dresden, Capital of the Federal State of Saxony, Germany, March 20-21, 2013. A high number of premium quality contributions were submitted by many authors from around the globe. According to the spirit of IEEE sponsored WPNC only a selection of them could be accepted for publication. It was decided by the International Conference Board, that the WPNC'2013 should stay a single track event lasting for 2 days, which limits the number of oral presentations to about 34. In parallel a poster session was organized taking into account the strong push from the audience to keep this tradition alive. Positive feedback was received during and after the workshop from several participants. It can be concluded, that WPNC'2013 was again a great success from contents point of view as well as from the local organization point of view. The team of the University of Applied Sciences Dresden has organized a warm welcome and a convenient stay for all WPNC guests. Special wishes were processed as nicely as the standard procedures. Suggestions for extension of the event, such as invited talks and tutorials, were provided and taken into account by the board while planning the next WPNC’2014. I would like to thank very much all board and TPC members, all local contributors and all authors as well as all guests creating all together such a nice and constructive atmosphere during the workshop.
