2. Core Competencies

Setia Jaya have been established in the marketplace due to its strengths. It is a company consists

of various of engineering fields, which are structural, geotechnical, highway and drainage, and

water engineering. The process taken step by step starts with focusing on highway maintenance,and then focused on other fields accordingly.

Setia Jaya also is well known for excellence in skills and services in engineering fields

covered. It practices professionalism to the highest level to produce the best products. Being

interested in new efficient technology, they are able to level up their quality of the products. It

also actively practices green building and sustainable development in producing a quality

lifestyle to users.

Safety is an essential in engineering quality. However not many companies able to practice it.

Setia Jaya is strictly practice safety in engineering projects. These attitudes toward positivity

When it's coming to real deal, the challenges is natural. There are challenges that Setia Jaya is

facing. However, in order to survive, it is essential to overcome these challenges or threats by

turning it to strength, in order to survive. These are threats to Setia Jaya:

Other consultancies looking to invade the market place. Other well known companies dominate the market. Too many new companies in the market to compete. Economic crisis slows down the development. Higher cost required for green building.

It is the best to exploit these challenges and turn it to strength. Since nowadays there are many

new companies are born, causing the competition is getting higher between consultancies in the

market place. The solution for this challenge is by being different. Being different will help the

company to stand out in the market, leads to increasing in demand. Setia Jaya is well known for

the excellence design structure, as well as skills and management. Setia Jaya have been received

multiple awards and recognition, gaining its popularity in the business.

These problems also can be solved by helping the new company enter into partnership. This

reduces the competitions in the market, thus secure the rank of Setia Jaya in the arena. This also

helps the new companies to set their platform and train themselves in becoming a better

company.

Crisis in economy really does take toll on the business. It slows down the development in the

country, causing the engineering company to have less projects, or becoming inactive for worst.

When this happen, the demand of the company will drop instantaneously as new companies and

society. In spite of its greatness in sustaining the development, the material and execution used

may cost more than usual. This can be problem too, as the company may find it hard because it

may reduce the profit growth. But this doesn't stop Setia Jaya form practicing it. Green

development is a big opportunity in the arena. So, in order to overcome this, replacing materials

with recycled materialsis one of the solutions. Setia Jaya do practiced 3R ( Reduce, Reuse and

Recycle).
