Shocking Brazilian Survey (PICTURES)
A powerful campaign has been launched after a shocking survey
revealed attitudes on sexual assault in Brazil.
The country's Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA)
released research this week revealing that over 65% of 3,810
respondentsagreed that "if dressed provocatively, women deserve to
be attacked or raped" while over 58% agreed that "if women knew how
to behave,there would be less rape."
Particularly shocking was that 66.5% of those surveyed were in
fact, women, leading many to argue that the response proves
how"widespread the toxic nature of rape culture is."
The response to IPEA's findings was initiated by journalist Nana
Quieroz, who posted a photo on Twitter declaring: "Nao Mereo
SerEstrupada", which in Portugese translates to "I Don't Deserve To
Be Raped."
Women and men from around the world have since joined forces to
upload their own deliberately provocative selfies alongside
hashtagcaptions which include #NoWomanDeservesToBeRaped,
#IDontDeserveToBeRaped and #MyBodyBelongsToMe.

There is absolutely no excuse for this type of dreadful
behaviour, although following
the example of FEMEN may not be the most constructive way to get

alluring. That does not give you the right to think you can rape
me" It is shocking
that in the 21st century men and women could think that rape
under any
circumstance could be acceptable. It goes to show that educating
the whole world

MISGUIDED

sick individuals who have
no respect for other humans bodies. Any rapist, male or female,
should be
incarcerated for life. No man, woman, or child should have to
