Did You Know? In the old days, people used to lay their dirty laundry on top of the geyser site so that the erupting hot water would wash their clothes.

Old Faithful was the first geyser in Yellowstone National Park to be given a name.

Old Faithful eruptions last anywhere from 1.5 to 5 minutes. In that amount of time, the geyser gushes anywhere from 3,700 to 8,400 gallons of water. That’s a lot of hot water! How hot? The water is about 204º F and the steam can be up to 350º F!
