1.Creating an iCloud account and backing up and restoring

1.1 Creating an iCloud account:

- In the Settings menu of your device select the iCloud option and then the Get a free Apple ID button.

- Enter a birth date, First and Last name when requested.

- Select the Get a free iCloud email address option, and enter a valid email.

- Enter a valid password and the 3 security questions to continue.- Skip the Rescue Email section by tapping the next button and turn off the Email Updates.- Agree to the Terms and Conditions to create your iCloud Account.

1.2 Creating a backup with iCloud

- After logging in with your iCloud account scroll to the bottom of the page and select the Storage & Backup option.- On the bottom of the page tap the Back Up Now button and wait until the progress bar fills up to create your backup.

1.3 Restoring a backup from iCloud

- To restore a backup from an iCloud Account the device must be reset to factory settings.- Save files created on a device with a higher firmware version cannot be restored on a device with a lower firmware version (ex. Save files from fw iOS 7.1 cannot be restored to fw iOS 7.0).- Perform a reset to factory on the device you want to restore your iCloud backup on.- After connecting to a WiFi network continue to the screen where you are requested to set up your device.- Select the Restore from iCloud Backup option, log in to your iCloud account and select the backup you wish to restore.- Wait for the device to finish the restore.

- For non- retail application you will need to install the application manually from iTunes after you finished restoring the iCloud account on the device.

1.4 Logging out from iCloud- To log out from iCloud you will need to delete the account from the device.- Enter the iCloud section and scroll to the bottom of the page.- Tap the Delete Account button, but select the Keep on my Device option in order to keep the data on your device.

2. Backing up and restoring from iTunes

- iTunes Backups are found C:\Users\*username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup adress where *is your personal folder.- Before creating a backup with iTunes make sure to clear the contents of your Backup Folder.

2.1 Creating an iTunes backup

- Launch iTunes and connect the device you wish to create a backup from.– Click on the Backup Now button to create a backup.

2.2 Restoring Backups

- Copy the backup files you have received to the following folder: C:\Users\*username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup.- Connect the device you wish to restore to to your PC and launch iTunes.- Click the Restore backup button and select the backup you wish to restore to the device.- In some cases a restore is only possible it the device is reset, please follow section 1.3 of the document and select Restore form iTunes Backup to Set up the device.
