Before entering the gallery I expected to see weird artwork and Nicole Eisenman definitely had weird artwork. However some of her paintings were clear enough where you could soak it in. The cool thing about this painting what that she paid attention to putting paint on the canvas so it really looked like a painting was developing in the painting.

The first painting I responded to was Nicole Eisenman’s “Hamelt.” As we were walking through the gallery I came upon this painting and it’s counterpart on the wall “Deep Sea Diver” and enjoyed the familiarity of it. At first you walk through all of these weird paintings and a few odd sculptures and to come to this painting it was almost like a relief.

Entering this pink room was so surreal. As you enter the room, celestial music is playing in the background and you’re left wondering if your in a dream, some weird videogame, or an alternate dimension. There’s fake fruit on the ground and images on these huge screens. It was such a weird and cool experience.

One of Ridykeulous’s works. There was so much to read in her section and her work was so humorous but at the same time angering, because I understand what she’s talking about. I decided to include this picture because of the cats, I find them so funny and like the rest of their work there is a humor to these angering issues she, and others, face.

More of Ridykeulous’ work. She had a lot of rejection letters and other papers to read. Her work was so loud and very critical and I loved how she had all of these things to look at. Because of the way she showcased her work it really stuck to you. You didn’t walk away from it forgetting it.

Ridykeulous’ neon sign fit perfectly surrounded by her other artwork. Her entire collection of art was very in your face and to have this bright pink neon lettering placed amongst the pieces was really cool and impactful.
