The objective of this guide is to provide step by step instructions when applying for new IBM Business Partner Agreement (BPA).
We have attempted to show as many of the screen shots as possible, however there may be variations depending on the relationship you are applying for. Should you have any system problems with sign on or with navigation, please note that there is a link on each screen for “Contact us” This will help you find the appropriate support for your country to help.
Application Flow

Business Partner (BP) completes the application using their IBM PartnerWorld Profile.
IBM generates new Business Partner Agreement (BPA).
BP signs and IBM countersigns BPA
Agreement Active
IBM reviews and approves new application
Application Status Status Description
Pending Initial status. Application not yet reviewed by IBM
Under Business Operations Review
IBM’s team has initiated the review process
Business Partner Additional Information Required
This status allows the Business Partner to edit the application again to make updates/attach more documentation etc.
Denied IBM has not accepted the application.
Approved pending Agreement
IBM has approved the application and initiated contract creation.
Issue Agreement Contract creation and acceptance in progress.
Active IBM has activated the authorization.

Do any of your company's owners, Board Members or Senior Management have indirect ties (e.g. through familial relationships) with any Government official or Government employee in a position to influence a purchasing decision on behalf of a Government? 17. Are any of the companies that have Company Ownership with 5% or more or is ultimate parent, owned or controlled by any Government, Government official or Government employee? 18. If your company is owned by another company, companies, person or persons, do any of these companies or persons or your company's Ultimate Parent, if any, have a Business Partner relationship with IBM? 19. Within the past five (5) years: Has your company or any related entity (e.g. Ultimate Parent, parent, subsidiary or affiliate) or any of its or their owners, Board Members, Senior Management or any other employees been investigated, charged or convicted in any jurisdiction for engaging in any illegal activity related to unethical conduct, such as bribery or corruption? If YES ---Please provide sufficient details for IBM to evaluate your response, including the name of each company, related entity, owner, Board Member, Senior Management or employees at issue, the nature and circumstances of each such investigation, charge or conviction and the jurisdiction where each such investigation, charge or conviction occurred. 20. Company Information ! You will be required to assign employees to the roles below. If
a position is not applicable to your company (e.g., you have no Chief Financial Officer), then please assign the individual within your company who holds an equivalent or comparable position:

! For the “Name in local language fields” enter first, middle (if applicable) and surname/family name as they appear on official government documents such as a passport.

Definitions: ! Board Members – includes all of the members of a company’s Board of
Directors or any equivalent or comparable governing body or group. ! Company – includes any company, corporation, partnership, limited liability
company or other entity. ! Government – includes any (a) national, state or local government, (b)
public international organization (such as the United Nations), (c) agency or company subject to a country’s public procurement laws and (d) company that is owned or controlled by a government, organization, agency or company described in items (a),(b),(c), or (d) of this definition (such as state – owned oil or telephone company).
! Senior Management - includes (a) all of a company’s officers, presidents, senior vice presidents, managing directors, directors of sales, finance and marketing and all members of a company’s senior leadership teams, (b) if a company does not have “officers”, “presidents”, “senior vice presidents”, “managing directors”, or “directors of sales, finance or marketing”, then those persons holding equivalent or comparable positions to those and (c) those persons (other than administrative personnel, such as secretarial assistants) who report to the positions/persons covered by items (a) and (b).
! Ultimate Parent is the top-level company in a family of companies. An ultimate parent directly or indirectly controls a company. In the following example, Company C is Company A’s ultimate parent:
! Company A is controlled by Company B; ! Company B is controlled by Company C; ! No company controls Company C
! If there is no company that controls Company A, then Company A is the ultimate parent.

This assumes your company is already a PartnerWorld member, you have an IBM web ID and you are associated with the company as an Authorized Profile Administrator (APA). Click "Relationship management” to begin.
Click "Apply and Manage Relationships”.

Select the appropriate Country Enterprise ID under "Manage Business Partner agreements" if you see this screen. Note: Most companies will not see this screen as they only have one Country Enterprise ID.
Before continuing the application, ensure the company name shown matches your company’s name as it appears on your official business registration documents.

A country or group of countries are preselected for you based on your country location. To add a country where you will also do business, select the country in the “Additional countries” list. Click the right arrow to move the selection to the “Authorized Countries” list.

Click “+” to expand the categories to see the sub-products you may select.
Select “Distributor” if applicable. Check the box beside each product for which you are applying. Click “Next” after you have made all your selections.

In some countries for specific relationships, BPA Click and Accept terms and conditions may be presented where you can agree to the terms and conditions online. Click each link to read and print the agreement. It is important to read each agreement carefully and print each one for future reference. These are legally binding agreements. You may obtain a copy of the agreements with the details of your relationship populated with authorized products and your registered agreement number if required. Select “Yes” at “Do you require a confirmed agreement copy with our company name and approved products embedded”? When you have read the agreements, accept the terms of the agreements by clicking “I agree”, or decline to accept the terms by clicking “I disagree”. If you click “I disagree”, you will exit from the application and your information will not be saved.

Add all employees who will be relationship contacts for this contract.
Type first name, last name, or email ID to search.
• If employee is found, click their name. • If employee is not found, click “ADD
New Employee”.
Complete the form and select the appropriate role(s). The first two roles are mandatory. Click “Create and Continue”.

Register your sales employees for Integrity Training by adding them individually or uploading a file. Type first name, last name, or email ID to search. • If employee is found, click their
name to pull in their data. • If employee is not found, click
“ADD New Employee.
Type employee details and click “Assign Employee to Integrity Training”. Repeat steps until finished adding employees. Click “Next” to continue.

Additional Documentation If this is a Merger or Acquisition scenario, click on the “Mergers / Acquisitions document” link for additional information. Checking the box for the “Mergers or Acquisition” question will expand the screen.
• Enter the name of the company being acquired.
• Optionally enter comments. • Fill out the Mergers or Acquisitions
document, and upload the file.
Check box if “Yes” to this question.
Upload all required documents.
