I went round and asked a few friends as well as people I’ve never met before through iMessage (iPhone), Facebook and Formspring the question above. While checking through my group’s blog I saw a post written by Zee explaining what her interpretation of the Ying yang necklace was. It got me thinking; maybe I was a bit too thoughtless to just assume people would view the necklace in the same way as I do. As there’s no college on Monday and Tuesday, I’m going to wait till Wednesday to video record peoples opinions.

Here is a response I got from a friend of mine; she’s into rock/pop/country music however even though she isn’t into indie her answer out of everyone I asked was the closest to how I view the necklace.

Another friend, Kit, told me through Facebook that the necklace could symbolize love, being whole (as one) and separation. I believe when the necklace is placed in a certain setting then the environment it’s in will effect how the viewers interpret it. I’m hoping the way my group have used it will provoke these views and opinions.

On formspring (which is a site were random people ask each other random questions) this user said he thought it could symbolize a couple apart and the good and bad in a relationship. All these answers have common elements including; opposites and separation,

which is more or less what, my group has tried to achieve with the necklace.
