CLASS REUNION IN 1975“Now ride we on our way,And as we ride give ear to what We say.”

Here we are, folks, ready to bring to you one of the biggest affairs this year to be presented over your two-way technicolor television set. I am sure that you are all sitting before your fifty- inch screen eagerly awaiting the arrival of our honored guests, Mr. and Mrs. August Hunde- mann, who tonight are celebrating their twenty-fifth anniversary here at this world renowned night club, the £1 Colgan.

While we are waiting, I shall introduce to you the inventors of the new technicolor television who have so generously offered their services to bring to you this great event, Mr. Rudolph Bodnar and his associate, Mr. Joseph Xijula.

Now £mil Bizub has a few words to say about his new funeral parlor. His capable assistants are Ernest Kovacs and Edward Barankovich. The very Reverend Nicholas Andrasz is chaplain of Emil’s well appointed mortuary.

Now we return you to the Club El Colgan where we shall introduce the celebrities as they arrive. Ah, 1 see we have the entire class of 1950 present! To the right of us we see Myra Drourr, recently returned from California, and her very dear friend, Vivian Todor, private secretary to the first woman president of the United States, Olga Holowchuk. Olga has been able to put a bill through the Senate which has enabled Ronald Tariss, (Jerald Windos, and W esley Hundemann to complete plans for a restaurant at the United Nations at Lake Success. Here comes Olga now, accompanied by her two secret service men, Emil M alovetz and Thomas Bobenchick.

At a nearby table we see M ildred Estok. Mildred is operating a gym on H ancbek Street next to Bab ik ’s Beanery. With Mildred are some of the members of her very efficient staff, N ila Shanley, Richard Nix, and Thomas Vernachio.

Lights are being dimmed; there is a gentle murmur of voices; music is being furnished by T)anny Kasha and his Slap Sticks. His musicians include Richard Kalnok, Albert Andres, and Thaddeus Szymborski. Rose M arie Lester is the soloist .

Among the happy couples dancing are Eleanore Rocky and her handsome naval officer,- Helen K allay is still doing snappy steps with W alter King,- Marguerite Campbell with Bill Varga. By the way, Bill has just received the Pulitzer prize for his recent book of poetry entitled “Poems to Lovers.”

Let us now mosey over to the refreshment bar. There is multi-millionaire Dick Brown treating all his former classmates. Dickie is still his old witty self. Right now he is telling his former classmates how he made his first million selling his newly-patented hair restorer. Among his very ardent listeners are Dorothy Putnick, a famous authority on world affairs; Qoldie Arva, secretary to Qeorge Koskoski, president of the Carteret National Bank; and John Raloga, tobacco auctioneer who is doing very well with the double talk. At the present time John is employed by the Toxe Tobacco Company.

To my left there seems to be some slight commotion. Oh, I see the cause of the laughter! Our very old classmate, Jam es Chek, owner of the Lightning Cab Service, has just arrived. Very much amused by Jimmie’s antics are Margaret Bodnar, Lillian Brown, Mary Kopko, Elizabeth Polonscak, and Violet Medwick, all happy, efficient housewives.

Coming in now is Margaret Mikula, whose very excellent direction has made “North Atlantic” a huge success. Two of the best acts in the show are Elsie Nemish s tap .routine and Alice Karmazin's modern dancing to Billy Eckstine records. Also starring in this sensational Broadway production are Rose Prokop, Lois Levine, Patricia Martindale, and William Solewin.

Some of our former classmates have replaced the famed television stars of the !950’s. James Irving has taken over “Howdy Doody” and is doing remarkably well. Lillian Berg plays hostess in “Leave it to the Girls.” John “Hopalong” Qural is seen practically everyday in those thrilling westerns.

Several celebrities have arrived. Entering is Joseph Molnar, who inherited Woolworth’s Five and Ten. With him is Robert Brown, who is operating a large ice-cream route selling “Jumbo” pops. They are just about to sit at table No. 5 where they meet Stanley Epychin, owner of the newly decorated “Ritz.” Across from Stanley is Harold Ward, handsome and debonair as ever. All these wonderful people have come hundreds of miles to give their felicitations to the happy couples we honor tonight.

Helen Koval, one of the world’s greatest dress designers, flew all the way from Paris. A telegram announces that Thomas Kasher, world renowned mathematician, has just arrived by plane at Michaud's Airport. With him is his secretary, Theresa Alfonso.

Ethel M ilak, who is working with Doctor Einstein on the latest hydrogen theory, goes to work each morning via Qus's helicopter service. Her two fellow scientists helping to carry out her experiments are N ick Del Vacchio and Qerard Banick. Blanche Qutowski, recently elected best dressed woman of the past decade; Sheila Qreenwald, the famed dietitian of the Ethel

Jlu d ak chain of candy kitchens; and Buddy Vlman, bakery tycoon, together with his secretary, M arion Ward, are chatting at a nearby table. Buddy is telling them that Stella Bialo- warczuk is the manager of all his bakeries and doing a wonderful job. Bud claims that Joe Sandor's hydrogenized milk has greatly added to the quality of Lilman s cakes. Bud S' chief baker, Louis Toth, has secured the recipes of Qladys Sabo, noted home-maker, whose picture appears on every bag of Sarik's self-flopping flour. Ballerina Frances M ichael is being asked to perform. She will dance only if Jan e M ead will accompany her on the zither. Her agent, Beverly Zucker, is referring to the book of rules of the Ballerinas' Union. Joan Slugg, milliner, designs all hats worn by N ellie Hozelle, famous singer. Nellie’s arranger, Dolores Kubinan, receives inspiration from the modern art of John J. W arwrzynski. Renowned in the field of sports are Stanley Bartko and Trank O'Brien, professional basketball coaches; in the roller derby those hard hitting lasses M ary W ozny, Hose M arie Slomko, and Irene Stropkai. In the fashion world, Anne Xepich is an authority. She has shops in Paris, London, and New York.

Well, the class of 1950 certainly is represented in all walks of life. They are an inspiration to all succeeding graduating classes. 1 wish I could visit with them longer, but our time is running short and this telecast is due to close. Good night, folks. This is channel 51 CHS signing off.

“AND WE ARE PILGRIMS"The gentle warm sun of September, 1946, was bathing the flowers and grass,

and the brisk winds with cooling sweetness caressed the changing leaves on the trees. In this manner nature stirred our hearts, and we set off upon our pilgrimage to visit strange shores and distant shrines in sundry lands.

It befell that in that season, a company of many foreigners, sundry folk, fallen by chance into fellowship, all pilgrims, journeyed to the long sought portal of Carteret High. Here we were to begin a journey into new lands of learning. Our patient, faithful hosts, Miss Gibney and Mr. Lubern, greeted us and told us of the plans that had been made for us.

As we traveled onward and upward to higher levels, we enjoyed many gay adventures and we overcame various barriers and obstacles.

In the first year of our pilgrimage the work was tiring and difficult, and the reward small; after having experienced many failures, we launched a successful social affair in our second year. We had a gala dance. The music was grand, and everyone was in high spirits.

The third year of our journey was by far the most successful. We entertained both ourselves and our companions with a movie and a dance. Later on, it was our privilege to perform in the annual junior play. Then came the long awaited and anticipated day of the junior-senior prom! Oh, what a glorious night, and what a wonderful time we all had! The music was sweet, and dancing with our favorite partner made everything seem ethereal.

The last year of our journey has proved to be a great success. As seniors we have enjoyed many new privileges. Again we added to our exchequer by entertaining the underclassmen with a dance and a movie. Of course we cannot forget the fun we had in producing our senior play. Our successors, the Junior class, entertained us royally at the junior-senior prom. Then came senior prom, that once in a lifetime pilgrimage. Everyone had a wonderful time and we were all sorry to see it end.

Now we are approaching the end of our pilgrimage. The sun rises on our last day in Carteret High. Everyone is preparing for the long awaited ceremony, Commencement. We bid adieu to our fellow pilgrims. We can never forget the happy times and the hard work we have shared with our friends and teachers. Now we prepare for another journey— our pilgrimage through life. May all of us reach the goals of success and happiness.

“Hold the high road Thy spirit guiding thee,And doubt it not: the

Truth shall make thee free.”

FINAL CURTAIN

As the curtain falls on high school days,

Mixed are emotions in the actors’ hearts;

F or some are sad their hour is come,

While others await the major parts

Life offers. For this was dress rehearsal;

And as opening night draws nigh,

Some Thespian hearts beat faster

While others breathe a sigh.
