Leviticus 13:45-46 45 "The person with such an infectious disease must wear torn clothes, let his hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of his face and cry out, 'Unclean! Unclean!' 46 As long as he has the infection he remains unclean. He must live alone; he must live outside the camp.

Mark 1:40-45 41 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. • Jesus is both willing and able

Do we humbly and boldly approach God and ask Him to answer our prayers? What keeps us from doing so?Question God’s willingness and/or ability

Epicurus“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

God able God not ableGod

willing Why is there evil Impotent

God not willing Malevolent Why call Him God

Christians• Agree that a god that is neither willing nor able

should be called God.• Why evil in the world? Free will, Satan, Sin• Believe that God is both willing and able…God

has good reasons when He does not to act

Even if we believe God is willing and able we don’t ask because:• afraid that God will say no• don’t think that God will be interested

Matthew 7:8-11 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

God says He is wiling…

Are you willing to ask Him?
