    I. General safety instructions

This manual contains important safety instructions that should be followed during the installation and maintenance of the UPS.

Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to install or operate this UPS.

DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to remove the UPS cover. It contains hazardous voltages internally that may cause electric shock. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. For service, please contact your nominated service agent.

II. Conditions of Use  This equipment is designed for domestic use only. The manufacturer neither

recommends nor knowingly sells this product for use in critical life support applications.

 Intended for installation in a controlled environment. The controlled environment should be in accordance with the requirement s of the specification

 Do not install or operate your UPS in or near water.  Do not place UPS on an unstable cart, stand, table or other unsuitable

enclosure.  Do not place UPS under direct sunlight or close to heat emitting sources.  Do not place UPS power cord in any area where it may get damaged by

heavy objects.  Placing magnetic storage media on top of the UPS may result in data

corruption.  Your UPS provides conditioned power to connected equipment. Maximum

load must not exceed that shown on the UPS rating label. If uncertain, contact Legend.

    III. Electrical Safety

DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to remove the UPS cover. It may contain hazardous voltages internally that may cause electric shock. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. For service, please contact your nominated service agent.

     The Hypertec UPS will provide a 220~240VAC 1φ(single-phase)power

source. Please verify that this model matches your AC mains / load voltage requirements.

 The Hypertec UPS must be earthed at all times during operation. This can

be achieved by only connecting the input power chord to a mains supply socket outlet with an integral earth terminal. A means of disconnecting the mains supply should be within 2 meters of the UPS.

 Output sockets on the UPS are electrically live if the UPS is switched ON, even if the UPS is not plugged in to mains supply. The On/Off button on the UPS does not electrically isolate the internal parts. To isolate the UPS, firstly switch the UPS OFF, then unplug it from the socket outlet.

 To reduce the risk of fire, use fuses with the correct rating when replacing fuses.

 The UPS relies on your building wiring over-current protection, which must be rated at 16 amperes.

 When using the communication features on the UPS, ensure the cabling connected to the USB communication port are kept separated by at least 25 mm from the power cords to and from the UPS input and outputs.

    IV. Safe Operating Practices

This pluggable type A equipment has factory installed batteries, and hence may be operated by anyone that has read and understood this manual.

During the installation of this equipment, it should be assured that the sum of the leakage currents of the UPS and the connected loads does not exceed 3.5mA.

 The mains socket outlet that supplies the UPS shall be installed near the UPS and shall be easily accessible.

 When replacing batteries, replace with the same type and number of batteries.

 Turn off and unplug your UPS before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. A dry cloth is recommended to remove dust from the surface of your UPS.

 Do not handle any metallic connector before the UPS has been turned off and the power has been disconnected.

 Turn off and unplug your UPS from the outlet and contact your nominated service agent if:

 The power cord or plug is damaged.  Liquid has been spilled on the UPS.  The fuse blows frequently.  The UPS does not operate even when user follows the operating

    instructions.

    V. Battery Information  CAUTION: Do not dispose of batteries in a fire, the battery may explode.  CAUTION: Do not open or damage the battery or batteries, as released

electrolyte is harmful to the skin and eyes.  A battery can present a risk of electric shock and high short circuit current.

The following precaution should be observed when working on batteries: Remove watches, rings or other metal objects. Use tools with insulated handles.

 NOTE. The batteries used in your Hypertec UPS are maintenance free. This means that you DO NOT need to check the battery fluid levels. Trying to do so may cause injury to yourself, or may cause a fault with the battery / UPS.

 The battery backup runtime is affected by the state of charge of the batteries, the age of the batteries and general condition of the batteries.

    1. Summary 1.1 Introduction

The Hypertec Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) provides uninterrupted, high quality, efficient and reliable AC power to loads It also has functions for protection and monitoring of the UPS operation.

This series of 1KVA-3KVA products are designed as advanced ON-LINE

UPS that provide the multiple functions and good performance.

    1.2 functions and characteristics

1.2.1 Digital Control Technology: Utilising high efficiency and high reliability controller algorithm design are used to optimize the output parameters of the UPS.

1.2.2 Self-Test diagnosis: A self test occurs before starting to find potential problems with the UPS to avoid any downtime.

1.2.3 Double conversion on-line topology: Makes the output of the UPS a Pure Sine Wave with consistent frequency and voltage. Other benefits are low noise and no interruption because of the main power fluctuation, hence providing more comprehensive protection for the attached equipment.

1.2.4 Intelligent function without surveillance: Output power is supplied automatically from the batteries when main power has failed. There is no transfer time when switching the output of the UPS when the main power fails or restores.

1.2.5 Bypass function: When the UPS meets a fault, it can transfer to bypass with no interruption to supply power to loads and provide alarm.

1.2.6 Advanced voltage compensation technology: This makes the input voltage range
