Research

• Look up different images of the human body– Muscle Structures– Bones– Veins– Anatomy

• Pick images that:– May have special meaning to you– Are aesthetically pleasing– Remind you of something else (ex: spine is like a

zipper)

Print full page images!

Prepare the Surface!

• Using watercolor paper do a wash of any color scheme of your choice:– Fade from a light to a dark (tints and shades)– Warm colors (reds, oranges, yellows)– Cool colors (blues, violets, greens)– Analogous colors (right next to each other on the color wheel)

• Alter the watercolor to add texture:– Salt– Oils– Alcohol– Lifting using paper towels

Transfer the Image!

• Using Acrylic Medium paint the image and lay it face down on your paper

• THE IMAGE WILL BE BACKWORDS so make sure no words appear with the image

• Let it dry and gentle wipe off the paper fibers from the original image leaving the ink on the paper

Add Illustrations

• Enlarged illustrations of the original image• Abstractions of the original image• Illustrations of objects that look like the

original image• Overlapping, Repeating in Various Sizes• With Skin or Muscle or the Bones showing

different layers of the body part• Add Color using Colored Pencils
