Pakistan *utomobile #orporation Dimited representing Bovernment of Pakistan=

and &uzuki )otor #orporation &)#= 5 +apan. The #ompany started commercialproduction in +anuary 6FA> /ith the primary obective of progressive

manufacturing8 assembling and marketing of #ars8 Pickups8 Cans and > x >

vehicles in Pakistan. The #ompanys long term plans inter5alia includes tapping of

export markets.

The foundation stone laying ceremony of the #ompanys existing plant located at

1in 9asim /as performed in early 6FAF by the Prime )inister then in office. 1y

early 6FF;8 on completion of first phase of this plant8 in5house assembly of all the

&uzuki engines started. 'n 6FF<8 the plant /as completed and production of the

)argalla #ar commenced. Presently the entire range of &uzuki products currently

marketed in Pakistan is being produced at this plant. 4nder the Bovernments

privatization policy8 the #ompany /as privatized and placed under the +apanese

management in &eptember 6FF<. *t the time of privatization8 &)# increased its

equity from <@G to >;G. &ubsequently8 &)# progressively increased its equity to

?7.;FG by purchasing remaining shares from P*#O.
