The extent of supervision will depend on the nature and scope of the event, applicable safety standards and/or recommendations as outlined by the American College of Sports Medicines’s Health/Fitness Standards and Guidlines, American Red Cross Standards and Recommendations, University of Arkansas’ Policies and Procedures, Arkansas Health Codes, and other standards, recommendations, or guidelines published by related sport or recreation associations or organizations.

NOTE: Due to the design of the Natatorium, one lifeguard for every 25 swimmers will be employed beginning with a minimum of two lifeguards.

The number of building supervisors, security assistants, and site employees will depend on the nature and scope of the event and the facilities being used.

* The Dance Studios and Multipurpose Rooms require supervision

** A $15.00 chemical fee will be added for specialized uses such as ROTC drownproofing and large swim meets or other activies which demand a high chemical use.

*** A minimum fee will be charged for events scheduled by U of A organizations which are scheduled for 8 of more consecutive hours, requiring cancellation of regularly scheduled HKRD and/or IMRS events, or charge a participation, entry, and/ or admission fee.

NOTE: A supervision charge will be assessed for all events that require supervision by IMRS Staff.
