Component #-ID¹ Issue Suggested workaround

March 30, 2011 Edition 3.0

HP Visual Collaboration

Release Notes

Known issues

1 The D number shown if one exists, otherwise only serial the number is displayed.

Portal General 1-4176 On slow connections, when logging in for the first time or changing language settings, Asian language fonts can take 30 seconds or longer to load.

Super Administrator Portal

2-4281 The password for all web-based configuration pages and the Administrator shell console cannot be reset. Web-based configuration pages include the Visual Collaboration Manager, Router, Gateway, and Room.

Many components have their own configuration pages where you can change passwords (vr2conf, vm2conf, settings page in Room UI).

3-4275 After a system upgrade or system restart, the browser window may hang.

Refresh the browser page.

4-3417 After an upgrade, legacy devices and the Visual Collaboration Gateway must be reconfigured on the Visual Collaboration Portal. The database is not ported as part of the upgrade process.

Before upgrading, create a list of legacy devices to allow you to manually insert the information after the upgrade process.

5-4293 Applying a new license with an incorrect token or password will not display an error message, but results in the following:

1. The License page will show as blank. 2. Visual Collaboration Manager SOAP calls will fail with a 401 response if new credentials are not used.

License information is entered on Settings > License page in the Super Administrator portal.

7-3873 Trying to Enable HTTPS without first filling out Certificate Details generates a “Failed to set HTTPS” error message without providing the reason for the failure.

Make sure Certificate Details is filled out properly.

8-4175 A newly added component does not automatically apply to the Default tenant.

Configure the component on the Default tenant, or to the desired tenant in multi-tenant systems.

9-4533 After the Event license expires, the port numbers for each updated tenant must be decreased manually. The number of ports assigned per tenant does not decrease automatically.

10-4536 Occasionally, the Visual Collaboration Router configuration page may not be refreshed.

1. Clear the cache from your browser. 2. Reopen the configuration page.

11-4541 After logging out of the portal, a user can still access all pages by clicking on the browser’s back button.

To prevent unauthorized users from accessing the portal pages, close the browser after logging out.

12 Default tenants in multi-tenant portals must be assigned a valid URL or IP address on the Edit Tenant page.

13-4691 On the Settings/Maintenance/Database page, going back to Factory Defaults does not affect the Visual Collaboration Router and Visual Collaboration Manager configuration pages.

15-4855 Portal upgrade is done for local database only. External database upgrade can be done manually.

Work around—explain how to upgrade external database on remote host.

16-4905 Keep Me Logged In option on the Home page has been removed.

17-4925 When upgrading from version 2.x to version 2.0.4, logo customization is not saved across all portals (Super, Admin and User).

Upload the custom logo to the Super Administrator portal, and then upload it to the Administrator portal.

Release Notes

Known issues

1 The D number shown if one exists, otherwise only serial the number is displayed.

Super Administrator Portal

18-4872 Current calls on the Super Administrator portal do not show tenant name for legacy device calls.

19-4925 Customized logo images are lost when upgrading from 2.X to 2.0.4.

Upload logo image again.

20-4946 Redirect from HTTP to HTTPS for port other than 443 doesn’t work when only HTTPS is enabled.

21-4947 Visual Collaboration Desktop sometimes selects IPv4 and sometimes selects IPv6. Client installation table might show IPv6 address.

22-5017 After 2.X to 2.0.4. upgrade, stand alone Visual Collaboration Router and proxy may not get connected to portal.

Read upgrade instructions.

23-5018 Newly added router pool doesn’t show up as available pool in tenant wizard for up to three minutes.

Wait until Visual Collaboration Manager restarts.

25-5090 Visual Collaboration Proxy doesn’t start after disabling and then enabling Visual Collaboration Proxy component from Components page.

Reboot Visual Collaboration Proxy after enabling.

27-5189 Default router pool cannot be used with any other router pools.

28-5214 Database back-up file sorting by date is incorrect.

29-5260 Can’t reboot stand alone Visual Collaboration Router from the GUI after enabling or disabling HTTPS.

Administrator Portal 32 The System database may become corrupted if the Visual Collaboration Portal is not shut down properly.

1. Use the Shutdown or Restart button on the Maintenance/System Restart page. 2. Keep the server on a UPS. 3. Periodically create a database backup.

33 Visual Collaboration Desktop does not reduce the number of viewed participants when the maximum Received Bandwidth is limited by the server.

35 Active calls are not disconnected when the current active meeting room or user is deleted.

HPVC 100, 220 Rooms 1-6136 This issue may occur when an HP Visual Collaboration Room 220B is used with a Sony HD-3 or a Sony HD-7 camera.

If the 220B has been shut down, and a Sony HD-3 or Sony HD-7 has been unplugged, and the camera is powered up before or simultaneously with the 220B, the video does not appear. (The screen stays black.)

To correct the problem power cycle the camera or disconnect the video cable between the camera and the 220B and reconnect it (even during a call).

To prevent the problem always power up the 220B before powering up a Sony HD-3 or HD-7 camera. (And do not power up the camera and the 220B system simultaneously either.)
