While working in it, do you think it doesn’t required to use static strap?

6.Chris July 25, 2006 | 11:51 am

I guess it isn’t readily apparent, but we often wear static wrist straps during disassemblies.

Better safe than sorry.

This was kind of helpfull. Took it apart to fix audio, it didnt go well. I neglected to slide the back of the case upwards when pulling it apart, I ended up busting the audio jack alltogether (wasnt working to begin with so no big loss). Cleaned up the inside, put it back together and it works fine (except for the audio of course).

Hi, I have the iPAQ 1910, but the screen’s broken (it felt from the 2nd floor, oops!). Is there any place where I can purchase only the screen so I can replace it? Thanks!

I have broken the touch-screen of my h1940 and I found it on eBay for around $30. While waiting for my purchase to arrive from China I’ve tried to disassemble my iPAQ and then reassemble it again (just to know I can:). It is still working after that (but I can’t do anything with it until I’ll have replacement touch-screen – still waiting for it). These pictures were very helpful! Thank You! Also note that LCD screen can be split apart into LCD screen and touch screen (both with glued aluminum frames). I’m not sure in what way the contacts of these are connected together but in order to change my touch-screen I’ll have to figure it out… By the way the green thing on the left side is the internal battery I guess, so after you remove the main board and it loses contact with the battery you have a definitive hard reset.

I have an iPAQ 1910. I was in the process of installing the software for the HP foldable keyboard. Once the software started the download the screen on the IPAQ locked up It has the blue lighted screen with HP IPAQ on it. I tried everything (I think) I pushed the reset button, I removed the battery, and I let the battery go dead. No good.

Any idea how I can ‘reset’ the rom on this thing?

Thanks,

I have an hp ipaq h1910 and its rom is busted, I tried to install the rom update for a later model and it reset and would not boot. How do I fix this? Could I boot it from a 1 gig sd card?

nice pics – worked also for the 1945 – problem is that you cannot anymore disassemble the touch-panel from the LCD-screen, no only is it glued shut “tighter”/more rigid, but the backside of it has it’s connectors GLUED together instead of the usual male/female jacks-connectors.

Thx for this page!!! – some other sites rip you off 2,500 USD for this!
