INTRODUCTION OF

NOTEPAD


The Notepad text editor

is a legacy of software

application that has not

changed many previous

versions of windows.


To open Notepad click

START button on board



Point the cursor to

All programs menu



Accessories menu will

show you



From accessories,

click Notepad menu


The Notepad program will

appear



From File menu



To Edit menu



To Format menu



To View menu



To Help menu



From Notepad you can

cut, copy, paste, delete

text etc.


How to Cut the text


To Cut text


Just Highlight the text


Then Hold on the cursor into

the text



Then right click button



And click Cut


To Copy text


Highlight all paragraph

or text



Then click Copy menu



To Paste your text


Right click button then select

Paste



To Change the Font style

and size


Go to Format menu then

click Font



Click Font menu



Select your Font style

you want



To select Font size



To Delete text


Just highlight the text



Then right click to show you

the selection



click Delete into the

menu bar



To Save your document


Go to File menu



Then Select SAVE

or Ctrl+ S



Another way to Save your

document


Go to File menu


Select Save As



Program will ask your file

name



Put your File name in the

highlight bar



Then click SAVE



To Open your document


File menu then click Open or

Ctrl+ O



Click your file name



Then Click Open to show

your document file



To Print your file


File menu, then click Print

or Ctrl+ P



The General settings of

printer will be appear



Select the printer options


Click Print to File



Then the number of copies

you want to print



To change the image of

your printed document


Go to File menu, then click

Page Setup



In page Setup you can

preview document



To change paper size



To change paper Source



To change Margins size



To print Portrait or

horizontal style



To find specific characters

or words


Go to Edit menu


Then Select Find or Ctrl+ F



Find bar will show you



Then type your finding text


Example



The highlight text can find

the Find help box



Click Find Next to match your

finding text



To create a

header or footer


On the File menu, click

Page Setup.



Type the letter and

character combination

from the following.


To inserting the date. Type

&d


Inserting time specified by

computer’s clock.

Type &t


For insert page numbers.

Type &p


To align the header or

footer


To the Left just type &l


For Center alignment type &c


For right alignment just type

&r


To inserting the time and

date in your document


Just click the cursor where

to put time

and date


From Edit menu select

time/date or F5
