How to use iExplorer to Save Your Apple Device Data Using a Windows PC

1. Connect your Apple Device to your Windows PC.

2. On your Apple Device tap Yes to Trust This PC.

3. Use a Web Browser on your PC to go to this website:

4. Click on Download.

5. Click on Save File (defaults to your Downloads folder).

6. Go into Downloads and double click the program to run it.

7. Click Run.

30. Here you can see all the photos you added to your app, as well as the database of your visits. You can use the

scroll bar on the right to scroll through all your files. You can also click on the column totals to sort the files by that column, such as “Name”, “Date Modified”, “Type”, and “Size”.

31. If you scroll alphabetically by Name, go to the end of the A’s and beginning of B’s and you will see a file named “AppDataVisits.sqlite”. This is the database of all your visits and photo names.

32. If you scroll past the “F’s” you will see a series of “thumb” photos. Each photo you add has two photos in the app: the full size for full viewing, and a thumb size for the list of photos.

33. Do a right click on Passport and click on Export to Folder.

34. In Browse for folder, select a folder under which you want these photos and database exported (below shown under Libraries / Documents / My Documents) and click on Make New Folder.

35. A “New Folder” shows up. Enter the name “PassportAppData” as the folder name. Then click OK.

36. Wait while the files get copied over.

37. When the copying is completed, you can click the red X in the upper right corner to close the iExplorer program.

38. Disconnect your input Apple device from your PC. Then connect your second Apple device to your PC, the device which has the Passport App installed on it, but no visits. This would be the device you want to add your visits to. When you get the message shown below on your Apple device, click Trust.

39. Double click on the desktop icon for iExplorer.

40. Click on “Continue in Demo Mode”, hidden in the lower right corner.

42. Click on Passport, and the only thing you will see is the empty Visits database.

43. Click on the AppDataVisits.sqlite file, do a right click, and click Delete to remove the empty database.

44. Click OK.

45. Do a right click within the white space and click Add Files.

46. Navigate to where you saved the files from the previous Apple device.

47. Highlight all of the files in that folder and then click Open. You can highlight all of them simply by clicking on the top one, then scroll down to the last one and do a Shift/Click (hold down Shift and then click).

48. Wait while all the files are copied. The more the files you have, the longer it will take. Ten minutes to a half hour is not unusual.

49. Once the copying is completed, you can click the red X in the upper right corner to close the program, and disconnect the Apple device from the PC.

50. Now if you look at your Apple device, you will see all your visits, with the companying photos and the captions on the photos. See below an example from copying an iPad data into an iPhone. a. This shows the 100 visits. Tap it. b. This shows the list visited. Tap one. c. The park shows visited. Tap My Visits.

d. See the list of visits for that 1 park. e. See the photos for that visit. f. See the photo with its Tap on one of the visits. Tap on a photo to view it. Caption below it.

Prior to copying all the files, the device had no visits, and now it has 100 parks visited, with all the visits for the parks, and each visit has all its photos, and each photo has its caption.
