The following pages outline the instructions for exporting a contact list from SmartOffice and subsequently importing into Guardian’s MarketEdge360 program. For additional information regarding creating and saving lists in SmartOffice for subsequent use in MarketEdge360, please contact Wes Dellinger at [email protected]. For questions regarding importing lists into MarketEdge360 and subsequent use, please contact MarketEdge360 Support at [email protected] or 1-877-734-5321.
How to Export/Import Your SmartOffice Contacts
To export a list of contacts from SmartOffice to MarketEdge, you must first access your contact list via a newly created MarketEdge export report in SmartOffice. To access the MarketEdge export reports, first click on Reports from the SmartOffice left-hand menubar. Once the Report dropdown menu is open, select Dynamic Reports: Once Dynamic Reports is selected, you will then see a search box. In the Repor tName field, type “ME” and click on Search.

Once search results are returned, two separate “ME” reports will appear. Note, one report is for exporting contacts who have a valid preferred mailing address and another is for contacts who have a valid preferred email address:
To run a report and create an export file suitable for importing into MarketEdge360, check the desired report and then from the SmartOffice Menu button, select Run Excel Template (note, for future use, you can click and drag the Run Excel Template button and place it on the tool bar adjacent to the Menu button):

Once “Run Excel Template” has been selected, the next screen to appear will offer “run time” filtering capabilities. To change the age range for this report, click on the current age range and change it to the desired range. Once you click on OK to run the report, SmartOffice will then begin the procedure of exporting the report to Excel. NOTE: If you receive an error or your SmartOffice does not export to Excel, this means you have not installed SmartOffice Utilities, which includes software to link SmartOffice to Excel. To install SmartOffice Utilities, from the left hand menu bar, select “Installations” from the “Setup” menu drop down. Then, select “SmartOffice Utilities”. Once SmartOffice Utilities has been installed, you will need to repeat the steps on the preceding pages.

Uploading and downloading of files to/from the iPad is not possible. This is a device specific issue. Please see the following link for discussions: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16623340/html-file-upload-form-does-not-work-with-ipad . Although the discussion points out that iOS6 supports the file input element, it was not possible to upload a file with iOS7. The recommended work around for the file upload issue is to take advantage of OneDrive for Business which is included with Office 365 (E3). If the user loads the desired files in to OneDrive for Business they may be retrieved from the iPad utilizing Excel.
