DSLR cameras are nowadays becoming very popular as this camera is in the reach of average photographer as the cost decreases and manufacturers develop more user friendly models. DSLR camera offer you a fast performance and with better image quality than some other cameras. However there are some ways that you should know before buying a new DSKR camera.

Size

DSLRs are all more sizeable than compact point and to shoot cameras but you will notice that there is a little bit of variation in size between them also. In fact, there are some photographers who don’t mind carrying around weighty gear but if you’re going to use it for on the go photography (travel, bushwalking etc) then the small and light models can be very handy for you.

Resolution

One of the questions that generally occur about the camera is that “how many megapixels does it have”? Megapixels come into play when you consider how you’ll use your images. If you’re looking to print enlargements then more can be good or if you’re thinking just to print in small sizes or use them for e-mailing to your friends then it’s not so crucial.

Sensor Size

Another related important question which is to consider is how big the image sensor is? The term ‘crop factor’ comes up when someone talks about the size of image sensor. In general, if you have a larger sensor, then you will have some advantages over a smaller one (although there are costs too). A full-size DSLR is larger and heavier than the other camera types. A camera which fits comfortably in one person's hand may be too large or may be small in someone else's. If the size and weight are the main attention, then you may consider a compact interchangeable lens camera, which have bodies as small as point-and-shoot cameras.

Menus

You should think that how you can easily reach the common settings like macro mode, resolution, flash and exposure adjustment while evaluating camera and also how easily you can play back with the images that you have just taken. There are too many buttons and by doing this you just waste your time in trying which button does what. You will get lots of menus and you are on your way to know what each button do.

However, with all of the above factors that are mentioned, it becomes impossible to recommend the best cameras for everyone. Much depends on budget, size, shooting style, and personal preferences. Therefore you should always do something else or know from somewhere about the cameras and after that you can buy one DSLR camera.
