JIHAD
Jihad is an Arabic and Islamic term , In Arabic Jihad means
"strive" or "struggle". From the roots jahada. and is a religious
duty of Muslims. Stated frequently in QurAn as aj jihad fi sabil
Allah.Peron practicing it is called Mujahid.

ETHICS OF JIHAD Islamic law is based uponQuran and Sunnah of
Muhammad (saw).Quran forbids fighting in sacred month.Any act of
violence is prohibited with in the boundaries of Haram.If
disbelievers retaliate then Muslims are told to payback in equal
coins.Teachings of Muhammad (saw) on conduct of war.
A sacred month for a sacred month; [similarly] other sacred
things too are subject to retaliation. So if any one transgresses
against you, you should also pay back in equal coins. Have fear of
Allah and [keep in mind that] Allah is with those who remain within
the bounds Al-Qur'an.
Quran revealed in the context of an all-out war imposed on early
Muslims by Meccans, and many passages deal with the conduct of
armed struggle. While one finds "slay [enemies] wherever you find
them!" (e.g., 4: 89), in almost every case it is followed by
something like "if they let you be, and do not make war on you, and
offer you peace, God does not allow you to harm them" (2:90; 4: 90;
5: 2; 8: 61; 22: 39) God does not allow harm of civilian, and
requires the protection of women, children and the elderly during
war (4:96; 9: 91; 48: 16,17) You shall feed and protect prisoners
of war, and you shall not expect a reward (4: 25,36; 5:24) You
cannot kill unarmed (civilians), and you have to protect prisoners
of war Jihad and the Conduct of War9Jihad and the Conduct of
WarWarfare is always evil. But sometimes you have to fight to avoid
persecution. e.g., the one Mecca inflicted on early Muslims (2:
191; 2: 217, 4: 75; 22: 40)
Muslims may not begin hostilities "Fight in the cause of Allah
those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loves
not transgressors." (2: 190).
Hostilities must end quickly and cease if enemy seeks peace
(2:192-3; 41:34)

In Italy Red Brigades kidnapped & killed Aldo Moro former
Prime Minister of Italy.20th March 1995, Aum Shinrikyo, a Buddhist
cult used Nerve Gas in the Tokyo subway.
Killed 12 people. 5000+ injured and wounded.
Historical RecordIn UK, since hundreds years IRA The Irish
Republican Army is conducting terrorist attacks.
They are Catholics, but they are not called as Catholic
Terrorists, but as IRA.
Sri Lanka, LTTE, Tamil Tigers is the most notorious
organization.
Experts in suicide bombing.
Who are they? They are Hindus.
But they are not called as Hindu Terrorists, they say LTTE.
31st October 1984, Primer Minister Indira was assassinated by
her Sikh security guard.
Who killed maximum number of people?Hitler.

And indirectly if you count all the people killed in World War
II, 60 million people.
Was he a Muslim!? He was a Christian.

terrorism is not a Muslim monopoly.
Not only is Terrorism not a Muslim monopoly, it is not even a
specialty of the Muslims.
It is not even encouraged in Islam.
It is prohibited!
What does Islam mean?Islam is derived from the Arabic word
Salaam, which means peace.
It also comes from the Arabic word Silm, which means to submit
your will to Almighty God.
Islam in short means, peace acquired by submitting your will to
Almighty God.
Islam Means Peace.IN HOLY QURAN ALLAH (SWT) HAS USED THE WORD
SILM FOR ISLAM. FOLLOWING AYAT SHOWS IT
In Quran Allah says:

How Islam safeguards against terrorism?1- Islam teachings
condemn terrorism and promote peace and justice for all2- Strong
concept of Taqwah (God fearing) and accountability in
Akhirah3-Builds individual character (Seerah) based upon beautiful
conduct (Husn Akhlaq) on the pattern of Prophet Mohammad
(SAW)4-Establishes Islamic state which guarantees individuals
peace, security and justice for all. It uses its force to fight
against any violent acts and behavior.
How Islam safeguards against terrorism?5-Islamic state uses its
penal code , police and other agencies to arrest and bring to
justice any individuals or entities engaged in terrorist acts.6-It
declares and conducts Qitaal when necessary strictly in accordance
with the Islamic etiquettes and guidelines7-It works in alliance
with international community to fight against injustice and
terrorism of any kind. 1-Islamic TeachingsISLAM EMPHSIZES TO DO
JUSTICE

O You who believe! Be upholders of justice, bearing witness for
God alone, even against yourselves or your parents and relatives.
Whether they are rich or poor, God is well able to look after them.
Do not follow your own desires and deviate from the truth. If you
twist or turn away, God is aware of what you do. (Qur'an,
4:135)
ISLAM COMMANDS TO SAFEGUARD RIGHTS OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL
In Islam rights of all the individuals have been ordained by
Allah (SWT) from our own mother to slave, from shopkeeper to a
traveler etc
Be good to your parents and relatives and to orphans and the
very poor, and to neighbors who are related to you and neighbors
who are not related to you, and to companions and travelers and
your slaves. God does not love anyone vain or boastful.

But he that obeys Allah and his Messenger,- (Allah) will admit
him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow; and he who turns back,
(Allah) will punish him with a grievous Penalty.

Surah Shura 42:40-4340The recompense for an injury is an injury
equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes
reconciliation His reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not
those who do wrong. 41But indeed if any do help and defend
themselves after a wrong (done) to them against such there is no
cause of blame. 42The blame is only against those who oppress men
with wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through
the land defying right and justice: for such there will be a
Penalty grievous. 43But indeed if any show patience and forgive
that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution
in the conduct of affairs.
4-Establishes Islamic state which guarantees individuals peace,
security and justice for all.
(They are) those who if We establish them in the land establish
regular prayer and give regular charity enjoin the right and forbid
wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs. Al
Hajj 22:415-Islamic state uses its penal code , police and other
agencies to arrest and bring criminals to justice
Let not compassion move you in their case in a matter prescribed
by Allah(i.e. a prescribed penal code) if ye believe in Allah and
the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their
punishment. An Nur 24:2 6-Islamic State declares and conducts
Qitaal when necessary
A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His apostle to those
of the pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances. Go ye
then for four months backwards and forwards (as ye will) throughout
the land but know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by
yourfalsehood) but that Allah will cover with shame those who
reject him Taubah 9:1-27-Islamic state works with international
community against terrorism
Help ye one another in righteousness and piety but help ye not
one another in sin and rancor: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in
punishment. Al Maida 5:2 Our obligations as American MuslimsWe must
study and understand Islam and its ideology of jihad from Quran,
Sunnah and rightly guided scholars.We are ambassadors of Islam, so
our words and actions must be in accordance with Islam.We should be
well aware about the propaganda through media and other means
against Islam.We must participate in Dawah activities, explain the
true concept of Jihad in Islam, condemning all forms of terrorism
and violence against innocent civilians.We should support and try
to be part of movements( like ICNA/MAS) which are based on true
message of Quran. We must support the social and relief services ,
struggle for social justice and civil liberties, be part of
political process in N America to empower Islam and Muslims and
remove Islam phobia.
