“You wonder why a team is last, and then you watch them play. And it’s not the great, big things, but the little things that happen throughout the game…”

Vin Scully, Dodgers Broadcaster

July 6, 2015

KNOW YOUR KPI’S

“Key Performance Indicators, also known as KPI or Key Success Indicators (KSI), help an organization (you) define and measure progress toward organizational goals. Once an organization (you) has analyzed its mission, identified all its stakeholders, and defined its goals, it needs a way to measure progress toward those goals. Key Performance Indicators are those measurements.”

• How well you communicate (your spelling, punctuation, and grammar as well as your ability to clearly communicate ideas)

• Your work history and education • Your industry knowledge • Your use of alcohol • Your use of illegal substances • Your use of profanity • How you spend your non-work time

CONTENT OVERVIEW

In the job search, too many times to we offer up that we are on time for work, neat and organized, and will do a great job. In the eyes of the hiring manager or recruiter, they think to themselves…“yeah, you and everyone else I interview”. This training session is designed to get the students to begin to think outside the box and use the skillsets that they have acquired over the years to set them apart from everyone competing for the same position. We will also talk about the “black hole syndrome” and how to avoid falling into that trap of continual resume submitting with zero returns.
