Boahlcat is seeing things through a somewhat distorted lens lately.

Perhaps it is less of alens, and more of a bowl.

Boahlcat feels trappedinside this glass bowl ofemotion.

He feels as though he is moving through life at a snail’s pace. Everything he tries seemsto result in failure.

He thinks of the time hetried his tail at fashiondesign…

…only to realize thatpolka dots were nolonger in style.

And the time he decidedto knit his Grandcat apair of pretty pastelpantaloons…

…Only to find thatwithout paws, the taskwas simply impossible.

Boahlcat remembers thetime he took up yoga…

…to find that the posescatered mostly to dogs.

He thinks about the time he took up skateboarding……Only to have Kittycat and Katiecat make fun of his catatonic moves and catastrophicattire.

Boahlcat could not evenperform magic tricks…

…since not even hisco-star seemed toappreciate his act.

Boahlcat feels like he isnot good at anything.

He takes out his jar of bubble potion.Blowing bubbles always helps calm hisnerves.

In a particularly large bubble, Boahlcat sees Gawdcat’s furry face. Boahlcat talks toGawdcat. He asks him many deep questions about life.

Things like, “Why do I have to be aBoahlcat? Why can’t I be a cupcake?”

Then life would surely be sweeter.

Or, “What came first? The owl or the egg?”

Oh how he wishes heknew the answers.

Boahlcat feels like givingup.

Like he may as well resign to a fate decided by petals. Gawdcat hears me. Gawdcathears me not.

Boahlcat looks up at the sky once more.

And suddenly… it hits him. Gawdcat has heard his questions after all, and he hasgiven him wings. He understands why he cannot do what other cats do, like designfashions, or knit, or perform magic…

It is because, though Boahlcat has the faceof a cat, he has the spirit of a butterfly…

…And that’s okay.
