CHANGING MARKET FOR AGENTSIn a recent survey 68% of high street estate agents are considering introducing a range of tailored services for home movers, the research by Move with Us, polled more than 100 independent estate agents across Britain. 88% revealed that they would offer a bundle of services, allowing homeowners to pick their preferred marketing options. These include a combination of listing a property for sale on Rightmove and/or Zoopla only, taking professional photos, writing the property description as well as handling viewings and negotiations if required.
Move With Us says estate agents offering this added level of exibility are more likely to remain competitive in the face of increased high street competition. Robin King, director at Move with Us, said: The property market is a long way behind many other industries in terms of providing customers with choice, exibility and convenience.
SLIGHT SLOW DOWN IN NATIONAL HOUSE PRICE AVERAGEThe average price of a property in the UK now stands at 186,270, 9.7% higher than a year ago, according to the latest Halifax house price index. However, house price momentum has slowed since July when it saw a 10.2% year-on-year jump. Halifax says there were tentative signs that a better balance between demand and supply might be emerging which, if sustained, would help to dampen the pace of price growth.
However its not all bad news, statistics collated by the government show that independent international economists predict stronger-than-expected UK house price rises over the next ve years. They forecast rises in 2014 of between 5.8 per cent and 12 per cent. In 2015 the predicted increase will be 6.0 to 16.5 per cent. In 2016 the increase will be 4.6 to 10.1 per cent. In 2017 they anticipate 0.5 to 5.6 per cent, and in 2018 the prediction is 1.7 to 5.0 per cent.
BUY TO LET LEGISLATION TO BE TIGHTENEDThe Treasury has announced parts of the buy-to-let mortgage market will be regulated to meet EU rules. The new rules, pert of the EU Mortgage Credit Directive, set common standards that EU members need to meet in order to protect consumers taking out loans to buy a residential property.
The Government says the legislation includes introducing a new set of regulations for buy-to-let lending, where the lending is to consumers rather than for business purposes. The changes will not come into effect until March 2016, but the UK Government is consulting now in order to give mortgage rms and customers

Mike Taylor, a Poole based barber, is going to the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong - a global 5 star hotel group, to put on a master class in barbering to their barbers.
Last year, Mike Taylor from Poole, Dorset and Sheriff Mehmet from London ew over to Hong Kong to represent the British Barbers Association. The standard of barbering in Britain is among the best in the world, therefore the main objective whilst over there was to teach barbering the British way. Due to the high success of the training delivered last year, Mike and Sheriff have been asked to return this year to continue the development of the barbers at the hotel. This year, they will feature in Hong Kongs most in uential Chinese newspaper Apple. They will also do a feature for the popular Hong Kong magazines - Esquire and Mr Magazine.

DESIGNER RADIATORS
As bathroom spaces become more elaborate and mood orientated, consumers are
looking for products that can emphasise these characteristics. Designer Radiators have
turned what was essentially a utilitarian product into a design feature for any room. The
fact that these items are now functional as well as aesthetically pleasing has led to a big
increase in demand.
Many of the newest designs are now capable of providing sufficient heat for a variety of
bathroom sizes without the need for a backup heater. It is worth noting however, that
the heating requirements of a particular room are dependent on a number of factors.
These range from room height/how many outside walls/number of windows etc, so it is
a worthwhile exercise to calculate the heating requirements of a room before deciding
which designer radiator to have in your bathroom.
TOP TIP
It is always better to overestimate your needs than underestimate. You can lower a
radiator's maximum heat output but you can't force it to generate more heat than it's
physically capable of!
