HospitalityHospitalityHospitalityHospitality Throughout the year we will use this space to offer some
suggestions, some thoughts, some challenges to help us stay
focused on our goal of hospitality.
From Bishop Morneau: Embracing Hospitality. Third step: Space: Free and Friendly.
Have you heard this lately – “I am so busy.” I wonder does our busyness, preoccupations, hurriedness, and load-ed agendas which fill our hearts and leaves no room for Christ to have a place. We are busy about so many, many things and mostly good things. We are not bad people, nor are we deep down inhospitable. Beneath all the hurry, pressure, and preoccupations, our hearts are warm, unself-ish and welcoming. Then why aren’t we more warm and hospitable? In brief, because we haven’t the time. There is not enough space within our lives for Christ and some-times for others. Create space! Make space! These im-peratives of hospitality apply not only to our relationship with God, but also to our encounters with others. Do we need to take time to de-clutter our lives ( based on our pri-
orities) to make space.

We are in the last weeks of the 2016 Bishop’s Annual Ap-peal. We want to thank everyone that has supported this important cause. St. Brigid of Kildare parish has always been overwhelmingly generous to the Bishop’s Annual Ap-peal. It has become a concrete way we can become in-volved with the thousands in our diocese and share with them what we have.
We are currently just $48,774 shy of our $261,000 goal. Please consider a gift to help us make our goal and aid those in our Diocese that are in need of our help. We would like to have 100% participation from our parish
To donate please use one of the pledge cards provided in the pews and place them in the offertory baskets or return them to the parish office. Remember that anything pledged above our goal is returned 100% to our parish. No gift is too small. Thank you.
This weekend our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the funds he needs to carry out his charita-ble works around the world. The pro-ceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and disas-ters. Join our Holy Father as a witness
of charity to those who are suffering.

EPIC is for all 7th and 8th graders of St. Brigid of Kildare school and parish. If you have a 7th or 8th grade student for the 2016/2017 school year, electronic registration is available online.
Parents with returning eighth graders, please re-register your child. Just visit stbrigidofkildare.org, then click on “youth,” and select “middle school youth group.” You will see the registration link at the bottom of the page. There is no fee and t-shirts and pizza are included for all monthly meetings.
The Group meets once a month for faith, fun, fellowship and service. Members attend Mass as a group, then meet in Hendricks Hall for prayer and pizza, followed by activities and service, either on-site or locally. These service oppor-tunities help them to meet their Confirmation requirement of 25 hours (or more) with their friends in an organized en-vironment; and demonstrate a diversity of ways they can contribute to society and further God’s kingdom on earth. The program also helps students to build community among their peers and be active members of the community of St. Brigid, their second home.
If you have questions about the program, please contact Kim VanHuffel at [email protected].

How we want to die represents the most important and costly conversa-tion America isn’t having. We are in-
viting you to come to dinner so we can talk about death and the many decisions that often surround it. We want to make the right decisions and we want them to flow from our faith and values. The conversation at this dinner is meant to help with these decisions. Msgr. Hendricks, Dr. Tim Coss and attorney Mike Zaino will offer some insights from the faith perspective, the medical perspective and the legal perspec-tive to help answer the questions you might have. End of life decisions are challenging and it is helpful to you and to those you love if you make those decisions ahead of time. – Watch bulletin for more information regarding registration. ---Sister Teresa Tuite, OP
