Reconnection after Storm Damage to Customer Owned Electrical Service

In both Hamilton and St. Catharines, individual customers with property damage to their ownservice connections will still experience outages. All customers with overhead (versusunderground) wires from the street should check the stack where the electric service connectsto the house. If it is damaged, the customer must have a licensed electrician repair the stack

    before Horizon can restore power.

Customers should refer to display advertisements in the Hamilton Spectator and St. CatharinesStandard for more details on this matter.

    Public Safety Still a Concern

Our primary concern is public safety as power service is returned to customers. Customers andthe public are encouraged to notify Horizon of any remaining downed power lines and to stayback 15 metres from these lines.

If you see downed power lines, or trees or branches resting on lines, please stay away from the

wires. Do not touch or try to remove them. Call Horizon at the number below immediately.

Horizon Utilities crews and outside contractors are working around the clock to remove the treesfrom the lines safely, and then repair the damage so they can restore power as quickly aspossible.
