The Musher team was exuberant: quarterback Erick Peterson was deft and judicious in on-the-fly selection of ground or aerial delivery modes, and James Waligorski, in his HS football debut, delivered a joyful performance in pass grabs, key interceptions, and a 78-yard TD run! Soldier Mountain and Magic Mountain announce that the Camas County community ski hill is now owned by owners of another community ski hill across the Snake River, the Magic Mountain Ski Area 30 miles or so south of Kimberly, Idaho, in one of the South Hills mountain areas within the Sawtooth National Forest. According to Soldier Mountain: “Pay one price, ski two mountains! Magic Mountain and Soldier Mountain are now under the same ownership! This allows us to offer early bird specials throughout the month of September! Keep checking our website for updates! www.magicmountainresort.com! Great things to come!” The Soldier Mountain non-profit operation has seen challenging snow conditions and short seasons in the last couple of years. The new ownership arrangement, judging from the season pass deals on offer, apparently solidifies a business basis for another sweet season at Soldier this winter! Perhaps with snow to match???? Memorial Gathering for Mel Olson! A Hill City man! Saturday 2 p.m. at the Senior

Center! There will be a memorial get-together for Mel Olsen at the Senior Center Community Room in Fairfield on Saturday, September 12 starting about 2 p.m. Mel was born in Gooding in 1954 and soon moved northward to Hill City. He attended Camas County schools and

graduated from CCHS in 1972. He attended OSU and earned B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering, and along the way married Roxane Gaskill of Fairfield. On Saturday, please come share any memories of Mel you may have or listen as Roxane attempts to share some of her memories from 41+ years with Mel. ❦

Fairfield Legion Post will host POW/MIA ceremony Friday! At noon! The American Legion will be honoring the U.S’s POWs & MIAs at noon on Friday, September 18. The ceremony will be held at the Museum next to the American Legion Hall. LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to Idaho Code 67-6509, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Camas County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Camas County Courthouse Annex located at 517 Soldier Rd., Fairfield, Idaho on the 6 day of October 2015 at 7:30 pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. The purpose of this hearing is for the public as well as the Planning and Zoning Commission to hear a request from the Camas County Cemetery District for approval of a preliminary plat to subdivide approximately 2.582 acres into 105 lots. This parcel of land is located approximately 5 miles north of the city of Fairfield on Soldier Rd. and is more particularly described as follows:
