Lutheran-Catholic Prayer Service As Jesus prepared to seal the new covenant in His own blood, His earnest prayer to the Fa-ther was that those given to Him by the Father would be one, just as He and the Father were one. When Christians discover their unity in Jesus, they participate in Christ’s glorification in the presence of the Father, with the same glory that He had lived in the Father’s pres-ence before the world existed. Therefore, God’s covenanted people must always strive to be a reconciled community that serves as an effective sign of how to live in justice and peace for all the people of the earth. We will celebrate Christian unity in conjunction with our Lutheran brethren, and other Christian denominations that serve and minister to the Christian Community of Jackson and beyond. On Thursday, January 25, at 6:30 p.m., Bishop Steven Biegler, Diocese of Cheyenne, Pastor Inger Hanson and the clergy of OLM and Holy Family will lead the Evening Prayer for Chris-tian Unity in our church. In solidarity with the Universal Church, you are invited to attend this Prayer Service, in which we commemorate 500 years of the life changing events of the Reformation.
