FROM THE PASTOR’S DESKDear Parishioners,How many times have we heard, or said. . .”I can hardly wait for summer”, or “how long before summer begins”. We just had to listen to the children counting down the days until school was over, or looked at our calendar to know that it has arrived.
Perhaps, for some, this means no more “regular” routine. For others, it may be a “different” routine. Whatever it is, let us all make the most of these days- whether it’s taking long walks, catching up on your reading, connecting with people, or relaxing on your patio – ENJOY IT, along with the longer days and shorter nights.
Here, at Holy Cross, Fr. Chris and I will be in “different” routine mode. Weekday masses will be at 9:00 a.m. Parish Office hours, from Monday to Friday, will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There will be only 1 bulletin for the month of July and one for the month of August. Even my Pastor’s Desk column will be short.
So, keeping that thought in mind. . .Wishing you all a happy and restful summer. . . remember – Sunday masses are celebrated wherever you are.

SUNDAY CHILDREN’S LITURGY PROGRAM – Another year has come to a close for our Sunday Children’s Liturgy Program. Sunday, June 26th marked the last day of the program for this school year. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the children that participated as they put genuine smiles on our faces as we watched them learn and grow in their faith. Our heartfelt thanks go out to our volunteers who come out weekly to make this program the success that it is. Wishing all of you a very safe and wonderful summer. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR EMERGENCY COLLECTION FOR ECUADOR! - Development and Peace- Caritas Canada wishes to thank those who made a gift to help our sisters and brothers affected by the earthquake in Ecuador. Our parishes raised more than $100,000 for Development and Peace - Caritas Canada. Caritas Ecuador, a Development and Peace partner organization, is in constant contact with its field teams and has begun an evaluation in order to identify the needs of survivors and prepare to assist them in the best way possible.
ROSARY RALLY - Come support the next Rosary Rally on Saturday, July 9 at 10am at the South Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery (North side of Robson Street, between Hornby & Howe Street). These rallies are arranged by a small group of local Catholics, with no connection to any organized group.
CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC CONFERENCE SEPT. 23/24 – Everyone is invited to the September Catholic Charismatic Conference to be held at BROADWAY CHURCH, 2700 E. Broadway. The keynote speakers will be Bishop Sam Jacobs, a longtime, much sought after, international speaker at Conferences and Retreats and Dr. Margarett Schlientz who holds a doctorate in psychiatric nursing and Master degrees in theology…a Founder of Pope Leo XIII Institute for education of priests in exorcism and deliverance.
