Skill Ball Zingy SWP – Have you orderedyours yet for 2013?

RLMS Sales, in partnership with iconic Skill gamedesigner and manufacturer, Supernova Games, are turning their attention to the Holiday Park

Sector for 2013, in what they hope will be anotherstrong year for Skill Ball Zingy, the must have Coin OpSkill Game for 2012.

Phil Boulton, MD RLMS Sales: “Over 250 units have been manufacturedand sold this year, to FEC Operators, Bingo Clubs, Bowling Alleys andindeed take-up from some of the larger Park Operators, albeit thelaunch of this model missed the first half buying season. Zingy is anexciting new Skill with Prize game with cash or Ticket payout based onthe ever popular Skill Ball series of coin operated games. The gameoffers players the ultimate challenge to test their Recognition andphysical dexterity skills. Played against the clock the game is one wherethe player Matches numbers coming down a chute with ones in the playarea. Along with the numbered balls there are several ‘special balls’including Z-I-N-G-O balls which illuminate the on screen letters as theyare gathered. As each letter is lit the amount being played for increasesand when all these have been acquired a free game is awarded. Theprice per game is £1 and the maximum prize value in any game is £50.”

Whether operated on it’s own, or in banks of 3 or 4machines, Skill Ball Zingy is a must have inclusionin any Holiday Parks line up of coin OPentertainment for 2013 and will provide an excellentreturn on investment.

The Vortex – Experience the Thrill - Theexciting new concept to ensure your Holidaymakers go home with lasting memories!

RLMS Sales, in partnership with the VortexExperience, is pleased to be launching TheVortex at the EAG 2013 show. MD, Phil Boulton

“Whilst this is a departure for us in so far as it’s notCoin OP, we see the amazing fit this ‘machine’ has withour existing Customer base.

For Holiday Parks it’s ideal. It can be used as a marketing vehicleas a draw for visitors. Park Operators can then build it into theirTheme / Entertainment evenings, whether it be for Kids parties orAdult “Grab a Grand” style fun competitions, or seed the ticketswith Redemption or Promotional vouchers which can be usedaround the Holiday Park. Essentially the ‘player’ enters the Vortex, then has to collect as many tickets as possible within, say 45seconds, as they are whipped around the visible chamber by awind current. It’s both great FUN to watch as well as participatein. Everyone will remember this element from the Crystal mazemany years ago. Yet, no-one will have had the opportunity to takepart. Now they can!”

…and in Operation in over 600 Chuck-E-Cheese locationsthroughout the US, the concept is a proven draw.

For enquiries or availability call RLMS Sales on 0845 6036666. To view the product, see it on their stand at EAG 2013,EXCEL exhibition centre, 22-24 January 2013.

Derived from theInternationally renownedMyrtha Swimming pool

system which has been installedextensively throughout the worldsince 1961, Proteus Pools havebeen found to be an Idealsolution to provide a quick andcost effective solution to allswimming pool requirements inthe Holiday Park Sector. On Continental Europe, any pool with asurface area greater than 100 square metresmust be deck level. This being the case,Proteus deck level technology leads themarket as it provides the most cost effectiveway to achieve a deck level swimming pool.Deck level surface skimming to provide thebest possible circulation to cope withcontaminants in the pool, as well asproviding the most modern and attractiveappearance.

Based on stainless steel panels withCeramic waterline detail and a reinforcedvinyl floor, Proteus pools are particularlysuited to projects that need to be completed

in very short construction programmes. Inthe holiday park sector, we are familiar withthe problem of carrying out majorconstruction projects in the very tight timeframe between autumn closure and Easteropening. A Proteus pool can be erected andoperational in weeks rather than months, and are considerably less expensive thanconventional concrete and tiled pools, whichis why so many Park operators and takingadvantage of the system.

If bather loads need increasing or the poolrequires major renovation or upgrade,Proteus Renovaction Technology has beenspecifically developed to meet theserequirements.

Whether the refurbishment is required toupgrade the circulation of the pool to meettoday’s design standards, to resolvestructural problems or to increase poolsurface area, Proteus Renovaction have acost effective solution.

The exclusive Proteus RenovactionTechnology provides a unique solution and

an opportunity to convert any existing poolfrom scum channel or skimmerconfiguration to overflow gutter technology, without major disturbance to the existingpool structure.

There are numerous options available whichcan be tailored to the budget available. TheRenovaction process may include a fullconversion from skimmer to deck level, orsimply to install a commercial liner into theexisting skimmer pool but with theadvantage of having ceramic tiles at waterlevel to improve appearance and be resilientto Ultra Violet degradation from sunlight.

It is particularly suitable for pool extensionswhere operators need to increase surfacearea to accommodate higher bather loads. The old pool shell can be reconfigured toany shape or size required without the fearof the potential problems associated withextending reinforced concrete structures.

Proteus technology has also been used inthe UK holiday park sector over the past 3years to provide beach entry feature pools,Spa pools with hydro massage and bubblefeatures, as well as action packed LazyRivers to propel bathers around fun packedwater facilities.

For more information, contact ProteusUK Swimming Pools Ltd who will bepleased to discuss specificrequirements or arrange for you to seerecent Proteus installations.

Swimming pools are expensiveand valuable assets, it makessense to enable them to be

used earlier and later in the seasonor throughout the year.

The fact that the “Great British Summer”has failed to make an appearance for thelast few years makes putting them undercover them even more important.

A pool is undoubtedly the campsitesmajor attraction and is even more so if thepool is enclosed. When it comes tobooking one of the questions most oftenasked of campsites is whether or not theyhave a covered pool.

For camping enthusiasts who are naturallymore inclined to put up with the vagariesof the weather, it’s reassuring to choose

anestablishmentwith a coveredpool. It meansguaranteedswimming

whatever the weather. It’s even moreimportant for families, for whom it’sessential to have activities to keep thechildren occupied. A pool enclosure isalso a strong argument in favour of off-season holidays.

For any holiday park or campsite, acovered pool is a major source ofattracting new customers andencouraging them to return in future years. With an enclosure an average 20% +increase in the occupancy rate wasrecorded by a French campsite survey.

Lower financial investment less than 20%of a brick and mortar building

Very importantly a pool building will- - Take control of the weather – wind, rain and cold. - Ensure no cancellations due to bad weather.- Guarantee your daily timetable.- Provide safety. Access to the pool is controlled. Itis inaccessible outside of opening and supervisiontimes.- Reduce costs of heating, Even on dull days solargain through the roof will provide free heat to theinterior. - Reduce costs of cleaning, chemical usage andgeneral maintenance

Although Arch enclosures suppliesenclosures from 5m wide we are knownfor our larger enclosures up to 25m wide

(16ft – 82ft) andany length. Toaccommodatethese largerwidths we havefive differentstructural archdesigns.

A great feature of an Arch enclosure is thespecial side panel between the archeswhich are sliding windows. Thesewindows give you three opening andventilation options; fully open 2m x 2m,half open 2m x 1m or a ventilation slot (inthe middle) of 10cm x 2m wide.

The windows are made up in two sections. This allows the top half to be openedseparately to assist ventilation whilstkeeping the lower half in situ to ensuresmall children and pets are kept awayfrom the water. When both sections of theside panels are opened up, they slideopen to a height of 2 meters, allowingeasy access to the surrounding areas.

Potential suppliers toparks need to look atthis market place as

many parks are now lookingfurther into the leisure industryto keep their visitors on site.

There is so much more on offer to visitorswhilst on holiday these days. Our currentclimate changes seem to be dictating whatthe current trends are.

There is brighter focus on Glamping , this isnot just targeting the ‘Yuppie’s’ it’s alsogiving visitors a chance to experiencecamping in a much more luxurious way. Many that would not normally camp Glamp.

Safari Tents, camping pods and Yurts offera great alternative to camping and all offer away of boosting revenue for parks andsites. The demand for Wifi is still growing. Thereare many visitors who would only use apark that supplies Wifi to its visitors.

A great signal is a must especially if you arecharging for the usage. There are many professional Wifi suppliers inthe market place but ask for testimonialsfrom previous customers, so as to ensuregood coverage around your park.

It seems as though the days of the hotsummers are gone and the wet summershave arrived. This brings in a selection ofalternative facilities, the covered swimmingpools and the indoor entertainment is a mustto keep the visitors on your park and notventuring out to spend elsewhere.

I visited a great example of an independentholiday park on the August Bank Holiday thisyear.

This park did everything to keep the visitorson site. The park is called Sandy BallsHoliday Park and it is situated on theoutskirts of the New Forest.

They offer everything you could possiblywant on site very much like the ‘All InclusiveHolidays’.

Undercover Swimming pool, Children’s cluband activities, Bike Hire to cycle through thestunning scenery of the New Forest.

An on - site Shopoffering everythingyou could needfor your stay. There was also a

pub, restaurant and gym. We spoke to thevisitors and many use the park year on yearwith their families and friends.

Of course you don’t need to be a large parkto make improvements - if insurance is anissue why not put on activity weekends andhire the equipment out. There are companiesoffering Quasar, Climbing Walls, Archery andmuch more.

Some parks just want to make the campingexperience more comfortable and safe. A clean washroom with underfloor heatingand a hot powerful shower seems to be avery important facility on all parks thesedays.

Some even going so far as adding Suana’sSteam Rooms and Jacuzzis.‘The Loo Of TheYear’ is a great achievement for all parksalong with the Conservation- David BellamyAwards and a high star rating. All awards and achievements bring yourpark more revenue for the year.

So whatever Park Improvement your makingthis year or next year remember there is awide section of trade suppliers to fulfill allyour requirements.

Please take a look atsome of the topicsdiscussed in the pastfew days“Mobile devices impact Holiday Park bookingsWe have said it before that one of the issuesfor all of us, is the pace of change thattechnology is causing. So when the giant ofthem all, Google, see its profits falldramatically because it struggling to makeits advertising model work on mobiledevices, then it’s time for to consider whatimpact mobiles devices could have on yourbusiness. In the holiday park market where manyoperators are still resistant to implementingonline bookings, so perhaps a discussionabout mobile device is pushing boundariesbut this is important stuff so I will persevere. There is a research report by Google thatlooked at the number of people makingaccommodation bookings using mobiledevices seehttp://www.almeira.co.uk/market-alert.php . It says that up to 40% of bookings are made

using a mobile device, that’s not surprisingreally given the ubiquitous nature of them.Tablets, smartphones are everywhere butwhat has this got to do with bookings.Just try using your Holidays Parks websiteon a smartphone and you may find that yourwebsite really is hard to see/use as it hasbeen designed for a large screen. That’sproblem No. 1. Next if you have onlinebooking try making a booking using thephone, chances are its too hard because it’sprobably not mobile friendly. That’s problemNo 2. People won’t spend time trying tobook if it is hard they will book elsewhereand that’s why this is important. Ignoring thiswon’t make it go away. It is a problem that’sneeds addressing as ignoring will cost agreat deal of money.

Of course the Almeira bookingsystem is mobile friendly.Almeira almeira.co.ukYou may have heard howGoogle’s share price slumpedjust the other day. Did youknow that a major reasonbehind their profit collapsewas a failure to adapt quicklyto the dramatic move awayfrom traditional PCs tomobile.”

“Kevin Reynolds • Hi Nina, Ithas been a tough year forsome of our Park Partners, visitor numbers down 50% in some areas. That said, I do think Park Owners are lookingat how they can improve their offerings fornext year, being very careful on spending atthe same time. We have new Parks taking upon our part funded WiFi network offers -every bit helps. I also think technology cansave money in operating costs across theboard, with better systems, online bookingand automated email systems. Just mythoughts!!!

Kevin Clubwifi Ltd www.clubwifi.co.uk”

“Ian Elliott • Hi Nina, We have found a lot of parks have looked atthis year and how they can improve on it anddecided to take steps ready for next season,so far since the Hull caravan show we haveseen orders for our camping pod type unitsgo up by nearly 40% and enquiries for ourtoilet/shower units go up over 70% so itlooks like our factory will be very busy overthe coming months. You can see our newdesigns at: www.archleisure.co.uk “Ian
