boat in still water.
4. abdul travel 300 km by train and 200 km by taxi it took him 5 hrs 30 min but if
he travels 260 km by train and 240 km by taxi he takes 6 min longer find the speed
of the train and that of taxi.
5. A part of monthly expenditure of a family is constant and the remaining varies
with the price of wheat. When the price of wheat is Rs 800 per quintal the total
monthly expenditure is Rs 5400 and when it is Rs.1000 per quintal. The total
monthly expenditure is Rs 6000 find the total monthly expenditure of the family
when the cost of wheat is Rs950 per quintal.
6.Yash scored 40 marks in a test , receiving 3 marks for each right answer and
loosing 1 mark for each wrong answer. Had 4 marks been awarded for each
correct answer and 2 marks being deducted for each incorrect answer then yash
would have scored 50 marks. How many question were there in the test.
7. Point A and B are 100 km apart on the highway one part starts from a and
another from B at the same time . If cars travels in the same direction at a constant
speed they meet in 5 hrs. if they travel towards each other they meet in one hour
.What are the speeds of two cars.
