Warren, City Secretary David Skelton, Councilmember Scott Johnson, Mayor Pro Tern Mayor Smith called the meeting to order at 6: 00 p. m. Hold a First Public Hearing to Adopt a 2019 Ad Valorem Tax Rate That Exceeds the Effective Tax Rate. The Proposed Tax Rate for 2019 is $ 0. 806400 per $ 100 Valuation. City Council Will Hold the Second Public Hearing on September 3, 2019 and Vote to Adopt the Proposed Tax Rate on September 17, 2019 at the Regular City Council Meeting at 6: 00 p. m. at Historic City Hall, 127 E. Franklin Street. Finance Director Melissa Boyle said the tax rate of $ 0. 806400 per $ 100 valuation is being proposed by the governing body of the City of Hillsboro. The Proposed Tax Rate exceeds the Effective Tax Rate and state law requires that two public hearings be held by the City before adopting the Proposed Tax Rate. ( For informational purposes, the Effective Tax Rate is the total tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue for the City of Hillsboro from the same properties in both the 2018 tax year and 2019 tax year.) The Second Public Hearing to Adopt the Proposed 2019 Ad Valorem Tax Rate that exceeds the Effective Rate would be held on September 3, 2019 at the Regular City Council Meeting at 6: 00 p. m. at Historic City Hall, and vote to adopt the Proposed Tax Rate on September 17, 2019 at 6: 00 p. m. at Historic City Hall, 127 E. Franklin Street. With no further questions or comments from the Councilmembers, the Mayor opened the First Public Hearing at 6: 03 p. m. No one spoke during the public hearing. The First Public Hearing was closed at 6: 04 p. m. and the Mayor declared the First Public Hearing completed. The Second Public Hearing would be held on September 3, 2019 at the Regular City Council Meeting at 6: 00 p. m. at Historic City Hall. Hold a Closed Session Under the Provisions of Section 551. 087 of Government Code Economic Development - Project Maverick). The Closed Session began at 6: 04 p. m. with all Councilmembers present. Mayor Smith called the meeting to order at 6: 00 p.m.

Hold a First Public Hearing to Adopt a 2019 Ad Valorem Tax Rate That Exceeds theEffective Tax Rate. The Proposed Tax Rate for 2019 is $ 0. 806400 per $ 100 Valuation. City
