Economic and Social Change Course Assessment: Activation Assignment 5% Course Assignments 95% Work must be submitted at least once a week. You can email the work to [email protected] or hand it in directly to the teacher in Classroom 309. It is important to set aside time every day to devote to the course as you would in a regular school. Important Information Assignment Marking: Assignments for History 12 are project and essay based and all of the course mark is derived from the assignments. There are NO quizzes or tests. Activation Assignment

Welcome to History 12 with Learn@Home. Your first assignment for this course is to complete some of the Section Assignments for Section 1.1, as indicated below. You will need to use the “Readings” which is a scan of the Source File and the appropriate section of one of the textbooks. When you have submitted the Activation Assignment, you will be given a textbook and your own login and password. To access the course you will need to go to http://online.openschool.bc.ca/ , click on Blackboard Learn 9 and use the following username and password : Username: history12 Password: history This gives access to the full course in Blackboard but under a temporary login. Read the information on the Main Page and then scroll down to the Module list. You will be working from Module 1: Failure of Normalcy: The World After World War 1 . Complete the following sections and activities: Section 1.1 How We Discover Truth in History, Nationalism and Imperialism Click on the first lesson: Lesson 1.1A: How Do We Decide What to Believe?. You can move through each of the pages by clicking on the arrow in the upper right. When doingthe course, you should do all the Lesson Activities even though you will not need to submit them. They, and the readings, will give you the background information you need to be successful when doing the Section Assignments. The following lists what you need to submit to your instructor for the Activation Assignment. You will need to submit Section Assignments: 1.1, Parts A, Why study History?, B, History as Conspiracy, and C, Nationalism and Imperialism. You can find the Section Assignments at the end of the Sections or you can click on Assignments Links on the left in the Action Menu. Note that, in the course, the assignment letters, A, B, C, etc. do not necessarily match up with the Lesson letters, A, B, C, etc. Do not do anything further with this login. You will be given your own unique login and password, as well as the required textbooks, in order to continue on with the course.
