Welcome to all our new families!
Happy February! We are happy to welcome back some familiar faces: Ms. Holly (Room 1) is back on a full time basis, Ms. Kelsey (Room 1) is back with us on a substitute/ part time basis, Ms. Nena (Room 4) is back on a full time basis, and Ms. Anne (Room 5) is also back on a full time basis. Welcome back, Ladies! February is a wonderful month. We celebrate by showing love for our family and friends. Classroom Valentine’s Day parties are scheduled for Friday, February 13th at 2:30 pm.

Delayed School Openings & School Closings For Example:
1) Should Comal ISD Schools announce a 2 hour delayed opening due to weather, Children’s Lighthouse – Bulverde Road will open with a 2 hour delay as well. Instead of opening at our
regularly scheduled time of 6:30am, we would open at 8:30am.
2) Should Comal ISD Schools announce a closing for the day due to weather, Children’s Lighthouse – Bulverde Road will be closed that day as well.

Parent Referral Program Earn FREE Tuition by referring your friends, co-workers or family member to us! If
you provide us with their name, email address and phone number, we will make contact with them to share information about Children’s Lighthouse.
As the referring family you will be credited a FREE week of tuition for your oldest child
after the new family has been with Children’s Lighthouse for four (4) continuous weeks.
Please see the Front Desk or Ms. Lisa for information about our Parent Referral Program.
SUPPLY REPLENISHMENT
CONVENIENCE SERVICE
On the rare occasion that a child runs out of toileting
supplies (diapers or wipes) and a parent cannot
immediately replenish supplies. We will now offer
parents a temporary supply replenishment
convenience service.
The convenience fee for one (1) diaper and wipes
will be $2.50 per occurrence.
The fee will be added to the following week’s billing
ledger.
HOURS OF OPERATION ARE
6:30 AM TO 6:30 PM
Parents, your children must be picked up by the close of business.
Per the Children’s Lighthouse Parent Handbook, a LATE PICK UP FEE will be charged to
your ledger/ account if children are picked up later than 6:30PM (based upon our clock)
LATE PICK UP FEES ARE: 6:30 pm to 6:40 pm –$10.00 flat charge
For every minute past 6:40 pm - an additional $1.00 per minute will be charged

ROOM 3 MS. MICHELE, LEAD TEACHER
It is February already! We are off to a great start for the new year.
This month we will be busy learning about “Windows, Walls, Doors
and Hallways”. The color of the month is RED. The song of the
month is “Go In And Out the Window”. The shape of the month is
Heart ♥. The rhyme of the month is “I See the Moon”. Lastly, our
sign language signs are “Cereal” & “Cookie”.
We will be using props from our classroom to introduce new
concepts. We learn to help clean up and put toys away. We will
continue Circle Time singing, reading books and using flashcards.
Our arts projects will be about the month of love.

Sky, the color red, and the shape heart ♥.

Dear Parents,
We wanted to wish you all a happy February! Ms. Anne has returned to the Children’s Lighthouse family and joins us in Room 5!
We are very excited about the theme of TRANSPORTATION. It is always a fun theme for the children as transportation. There are so many examples of the different modes of transportation that our children see every day. We will explore many fun educational activities that relate to transportation!
Our planet, EARTH, and the concept of OUTERSPACE are additional themes that we introduce to the children in February.
In Science our focus is on birds. We will learn about bird body parts: wings, feathers, and beak.
Our February character value is Loyalty!

ROOM 6 MS. MEAGHAN, LEAD TEACHER
Hello Parents! TRANSPORTATION is our theme this February. We will be doing all kinds of activities that include all types of transportation: cars, trucks, airplanes and more.
Our curriculum focuses are: Science: Shadows Nature: Birds Language: Rhyming Pairs Math: Counting and Identifying Numbers 1-20, & Geometric Shapes
The character value of this month is Loyalty.

ROOM 7 MS. TERI, LEAD TEACHER Greeting Room 7 Families!
We ended January with our Letter Writing exercise and our “field
trip” to the Children’s Lighthouse mailbox to send to our homes.
February is going to be a very busy month. Please bring a coat for
your child every day, our Texas weather is constantly changing and
is unpredictable.
. February 2nd – we will be talking about Groundhog Day
. February 3rd – we celebrate our hundredth day of school
. February 6th – we will host a Cowboy/ Cowgirl Breakfast – DRESS
LIKE A COWBOY/ COWGIRL
. February 13th – we have our Valentine’s Day Party at 2:30pm
. February 16th – we celebrate President’s Day
The theme for January is TRANSPORTATION and OUTERSPACE;
Nature and Science focus will be BIRDS and SHADOWS; our
Character Value for the month is LOYALTY: The letters we will be
introducing are: W, U, and N.
During Circle Time activities and reviewing the letters that we
learned in September and November: A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, J, L, M,
O, P, R, S and T. We are learning to write and identify our numbers 1
through 10 and continue to practice writing our names and
practice precision scissor cutting skills.
Please continue to check your child’s folder every Friday and take
home their artwork projects. During cold, flu and allergy season we
ask that on Fridays you take home nap time blankets and pillows
for washing. We continue to encourage students to cover their
mouths when sneezing and coughing and to wash hands often.
If you have any questions or concerns, please visit with me. It is my
goal to make learning a fun experience for your child.

ROOM 9 MS. EMILY, LEAD TEACHER Hello Parents! We start February off with our “100th Day of School Celebration.” The 100th day of school is February 3rd. We will be doing a lot of 100 themed activities. February isRodeo month in San Antonio. February 6 is Rodeo Day – come to school dressed in your rodeo best! Our themes this February are Transportation, Outer Space, Birds and Shadows. We will continue to learn different word families as well as begin basic addition. We are excitied to have Ms. Taylor join our class. She is a wonderful addition to our room and we are excited to have her. REMINDERS: Valentine’s Day Party is Friday, February 13th at 2:30pm. DIRECTOR’S CORNER Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. !
I would like to congratulate Ms. Julie who has accepted the position of
Assistant Director. Ms. Julie is celebrating her 1 year anniversary here
at Children’s Lighthouse! Many of our staff celebrates their 1 year
anniversary – Ms. Jacque and me! I would also like to welcome back
some of our teachers – Ms. Holly, Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Anne and Ms. Nena.
Ms. Yolanda will be leaving us in February to pursue her second
Masters Degree!
Parents of School Agers - please let us know if your child will be
attending Spring Break 2015. Stop by the front desk any time to register.
We have a very week planned for your children. The theme is WILD
KINGDOM! We have a Spring Break Registration Round Up on Saturday
