About NatureBridgeEducational ProgrammingFounded as Yosemite Institute in 1971, NatureBridge connects young people to the wonder and science of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of our planet. We are the largest residential environmental education partner of the National Park Service, offering programs in six national park classrooms: Yosemite, Golden Gate, Olympic, Santa Monica Mountains, Channel Islands and Prince William Forest.

NatureBridge in Golden Gate NatureBridge’s two- to five-day overnight programs in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area offer students the opportunity for hands-on learning in one of the Bay Area’s most pristine coastal areas.

Located just minutes from San Francisco, students can explore the shores of Rodeo Beach as well as 60 miles of coastal hillsides rich with beaches, cliffs, estuaries, chaparrals and woodlands. Using inquiry-based learning, students collect and identify macroinvertebrates in Rodeo Pond, observe seals from the bluffs and study the adaptations of tide pool creatures in our state-of-the-art intertidal marine lab.

Our curriculum is aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and our programs inspire equity, inclusion, diversity and social emotional learning through our activities integrating teamwork, awareness and compassion for the world around us.

Discover the Headlands with a NatureBridge educator and engage in hands-on science activities in the learning labs. There will be live music, delicious food, art, vendors and beautiful hikes that accommodate all levels and backgrounds.
