India’s supreme court has upheld the legality of the government’s Aadhaar system, the world’s
largest biometric database containing the personal information of more than a billion Indians.
The apex court's five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra said
Aadhaar is meant to help benefits reach the marginalised sections of the society and takes into
account the dignity of people not only from personal but also from the community point of view.
The top court said Aadhaar is serving much bigger public interest and Aadhaar means unique
and it is better to be unique than being best.

INDIA SUCCESSFULLY TEST FIRES INDIGENOUS BEYOND VISUAL RANGE AIR-TO-AIR MISSILE
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully conducted a pre-induction trial of the indigenously

Mach 4.5, the missile’s maximum range when fired from an altitude of 15,000 meters is about
110 kilometers, which is reduced to about 44 kilometers when launched at an altitude of 8,000
meters. Fitted with a high-explosive pre-fragmented warhead, the missile uses an inertial
guidance system with an active radar seeker with a homing range of 25 kilometers.

INDIAN COURT RULES SABARIMALA TEMPLE MUST ALLOW ALL WOMEN ENTRY
India's top court revoked a ban on women entering a temple following a 20-year legal battle,
ruling that patriarchy cannot be allowed to trump faith. The decision is the latest by the
